So elsewhere we've been discussing the "roadmap" pamphlets versus the booklets, which now appear to be going to the higher profile releases only (Chaplin, Resnais, etc.).
One person speculated that they are trying to trim their bottom line on printing costs for the small sellers, so that prompted us to try to figure out the sales figures. Of course the figures are not public, so this is all speculation, but I assume that the weakest sales are around 5k per title (not counting Eclipse) and probably the top sales around 100k (Wes Anderson types). The more famous art directors probably get somewhere in between, and the occasional high profile title (like A Hard Day's Night) might move more units. Does anyone else have a more educated speculation? |

I have a feeling Time Bandits was a good seller. If it isn't sales, then frankly we're baffled and Criterion doesn't speak. |

Just watched the bizarro Shortbus. Due to its notorious reputation as such an explicit (yet non-pornographic) film, I could see this maaaaaybe going Criterion. But as John Cameron Mitchell movies go, Hedwig and the Angry Inch wins every time.

Jeez, two pages of fart discussion in the Criterion thread. And so serious about it....not even one joke about Il Sore Asso starring Vittorio Gassman.
Perhaps someone could start a Farts in Film thread and take the discussion there? In any case, pull my finger. |

The booklets didn't cause the discolouration :P that was a problem with the disc manufacturers, otherwise Arrow, MoC etc would all have same issue, and they still have booklets ^^
