YES!
Got to catch Woman In the Dunes at our local art house recently and loved every minute. I had seen and loved it a ways back but was great to revisit it on the big screen.
Also have a strong affection for Face Of Another, one of my favorite performances from Tatsuya Nakadai and one of Toru Takemitsu's most effective scores.

Yes, would even go so far to say that alongside Kobayashis HARAKRI, "Women in the Dunes" is the best goddamn (Japanese) Movie i've seen. Didn't like "Pitfall" that much, but "Face of another" is superb.

Nice job Scott! I would say The Man Who Fell to Earth, and Grand Illusion are out as they were for the Criterion art book. I would also consider Red Sun to be a rumor as it may be for something else. I also believe that clue back then had to be for Il Sorpaso, and not Midnight Cowboy

Agreed. I removed TMWFTE and LGI and dropped Red Sun and Midnight Cowboy to rumors.

It's cool to see the love for Teshigahara here. Personally, I think he's one of the very few directors whose work I would say is art.

Have you guys seen Ako? It's one of his short films, on the bonus disc in the Teshigahara set. It's only 20 minutes or so, but an extremely powerful and beautiful piece of work.

You have to assume upgrades of at least some of those will come along wince masters are already made and are all available in Europe.

No, because different rights are required.

As EJG pointed out, I believe the licensing for digital is different from physical.

Some of the films on Hulu have been there since Criterion launched on the website and some have sadly never seen the light on Blu yet.

A damn shame. I know the rights issues present, but some films they put out already have existing blu rays, but a lot of the films from Hulu have nothing. They should try harder to get them out because there are some fantastic films there.

I don't know if it has been mentioned but Paramount will release Clouds of Sils Maria only on DVD on July 14.
http://www.amazon.com/Clouds-of-Sils...0N180TG1S4M92D

So, the best chance for it to get a BD release is through Criterion, it would seem

I'm confident they would like to, you just don't know what situation the rights are in. I'd certainly consider it a likely candidate, but nothing to consider more than a rumour at this point.
