Definitely in for Kwaidan and Mulholland Dr. (though I'm bummed that the TV pilot version isn't included (unless that's what they mean by "More!" in the features description). I'm not familiar with A Special Day, but I'm game. Will probably eventually get My Own Private Idaho, but I wouldn't be in any hurry. The Brood is probably my least favorite Cronenberg film, and I'm not interested in it at all.

On edit: Well, I might be tempted for The Brood to get Crimes of the Future.

Eraserhead wasnt "cheap photoshop filters", it was a painting. The distortion on the Mul Dr. image actually befits the dreamlike nature of the film.

I agree. It seems...well, just lazy. Especially considering Mulholland Dr. should be a designer's wet dream with all the nutty imagery to pull from.

I might be the most happy to see My Own Private Idaho...pleasant surprise to see it upgraded. On a side note...the designer of that cover taught one of my classes in college. Kind of a jerk

I wasn't talking about Eraserhead - I ADORE that cover and love the idea behind it, the painting is stunning.

The distortion is just at tacky design cliche though - could have been more original/refreshing though. The guy who did this did 'Don't Look Now' (which I love the cover off now, it really grow on me, the leaflet artwork I have always loved though).

Atleast with that design they could do as digipak and people wouldn't cry about damage :P!

Yep, can't wait. I kind of wish it got the full 4K restoration treatment, but I'm sure it's going to look beautiful no matter what

I hope they do keep MOPI a digipak like the DVD release. I always liked that set...regardless of my feelings of the designer as a professor.

Meh... not really feeling them.. not to be big headed but I can easily copy those in about 10-15 minutes, they just don't look professional. Especially compared to his portfolio.

The best one I would say is the top but thats at a push lol.

Kwaidan is an awesome film. Perfect Halloween viewing. I'll probably pick up Kwaidan and Mulholland Dr. and wait for the next B&N sale to get The Brood.

Is it me or does 'David Lynch's' look out of place in all of them? Including the final one...

Apparently those were posted at 1:46 today, so the artist actually leaked the news ahead of Criterion.

I'm going to take the Kwaidan announcement as soft confirmation of an MoC edition too.
