I'm the proud owner of the Criterion Blu-ray of Night and the City, because I stumbled across an early copy at the Movie Stop down the street.

It looks as though I'm going to be spacing out my Zatoichi movie marathon after all, as per the suggestions of others here, since I'm going to revisit this Dassin film noir tonight. Woo hoo!

A restoration of A Bright Summer Day is premiering this November in NYC. I imagine the Criterion release is relatively soon (finally.)

I just got back from NYC but wanted to say that I saw a really awesome new film on Marlon Brando called Listen to Me Marlon. It played at the Film Forum. This was the day after it premiered (July 29) in limited release. The director and producer ended up being at the 7:30 PM show but my friend and I saw the 12:30 show because we had to catch a bus back home at 4 PM. Anyway, this would be a great release in the Criterion Collection.

I just turned the most sickly pea green color. Envy doesn't suit me very well!

But perhaps you'll let us know what you think ...? The reviews I've read so far have been extremely positive. Can't wait to learn your opinion!
