ETA: Here's a column from IndieWire on 10 films that should be in the Collection. I haven't read it yet, as it just showed up on my Twitter feed. Anyways: http://www.indiewire.com/article/10-...ent=1439819146
Most of those choices are questionable to me.

Bamboozled is an interesting film, but it doesn't scream Criterion. They have released far less worthy films though and I would buy it if they released it.

As for Criterion in 2015, I'm hoping the following titles are announced:

Bicycle Thieves
El Sur
Juliet Of The Spirits
Scenes From A Marriage
Spirit Of The Beehive

My wish list is:

-Gilda
-Hedwig and the Angry Inch
-Inside Llewyn Davis (I actually got to see Oscar Isaac in person on Saturday, with other members of The Force Awakens cast at the Disney D23 Expo!)

Plus upgrades for:
-The Lady Eve
-Written on the Wind

But real talk I'm still so over the moon from Mulholland Drive where I'm good for another year or so.

I never understood why Ebay doesn't do it like a real auction with the auction's end being extended say 15 mins after a bid. Hate when people snipe and steal a sale away from someone just by being able to submit a bid at that last second. Plus it would make more for ebay and the seller since most items sit at nothing right up until the last 10 seconds.

Imagine a real auction house doing that with the auctioneer counting down to 10 as people try to scream out a bid at the last possible second.

Hopefully Mulholland Drive will grow on me. Right now I just see it as a mildly impressive best of reel and I can't for the life of me understand the critical response to it especially. He got mostly terrible reviews for his films in the 90s and this is the one they praised?!??!!

I'd rather watch Fire Walk With Me.

I think Mulholland Dr. is sort of an odd case. Can I ask when you first saw it?

I've always had a hypothesis (totally unsubstantiated, btw) that those of us who experienced the film first in the theater upon release had a completely different reaction than those who saw it years later on home video, after hearing lots about it.

I remember going with a friend to see it and it was, just, Wow! Neither of us had any idea what to expect at all, other than it was Lynch. But the experience in that theater, watching that film, was one of the few where I can truly say that I was transported to another dimension. One that looked like ours for the most part, but clearly wasn't ours. If I remember correctly, we hardly even spoke on the way home.

It really was like being in another world.

I saw M.D during its first theatrical run. To me it just felt like typical Lynch albeit somewhat watered down. I wish I responded to it in the same way you did.

I preferred Inland Empire, although I wasn't crazy about that either.

I really have no idea what is going to be released but I am 100% certain that The Apu Trilogy and Othello will be released.

In Cold Blood, Inside Llewyn Davis, The New World, and Speedy seem like viable options, as well.

By the way, I feel as if Burroughs: The Movie is incredibly overdue for a Blu-ray release, so maybe we'll see that today.

Ahh, OK. Well, I did admit that my hypothesis was totally unsubstantiated.

See, I think Inland Empire is even more of an acquired taste than Mulholland Drive would be. I could see -- and have known, in fact -- "regular" (haha) people, non-Lynch fans, who really liked Mulholland Drive. OTOH, I think one has to be a pretty hardcore Lynchian to appreciate Inland Empire.

I hope they do a good job with it. It's a beautiful film. Then again, I love Louise Brooks, so ...

I saw it then too and enjoyed it - it was my first Lynch (never even saw the TV stuff). I remember all the "WTF??" from other audience members. I definitely didn't understand it (can you even?) but did appreciate its style, the visuals and the eerie atmosphere.

Inland Empire, on the other hand, although I also saw it in the cinema, was like three hours of torture! Actually, I went in thinking it was a two hour film; at the 90 minute mark I was ready to leave, but decided to hang on since it was nearly finished...

Nah, but I know that some digis hold up better than others. My copy of The Man Who Fell to Earth was pretty frayed, so I was glad to have the replacement case. Since this is a sealed copy, The Third Man digi will probably be fine since I'll take care of it, but you never know.

yeh well that was part of the issue I had with M.D. It felt like diet Lynch.

I want to see it on blu-ray though.
