I'll definitely get The New World, even though I just bought it in December. I just can't say no to Malick. Can't do it.

I'd love to see the Before films, but somehow I have almost no faith that it will happen. Would be a wonderful surprise, though.

Like we were talking about earlier, updates of some silents like Pandora's Box or The Passion of Joan of Arc would be HUGE!

Oh, and someone mentioned The Tenant. I'd be all over that. Yes, please.


Well, it will be an interesting waiting game today, as it is every month. No matter how I feel about what's announced, I always enjoy the anticipation. I don't really celebrate X-Mas anymore. But that's kind of what it reminds me of: That feeling when I was a kid, waiting to see what Santa brought me!

I think Before Trilogy is confirmed, just a matter of when.

Le Samourai and After Hours would be a treat (since I already own the Arrow edition of Sisters, I have no interest in the Criterion edition)

I know that The Passanger is already available on blu-ray, but I really want to see the film given the Criterion treatment. Also I doubt The Tenant or Knife in the Water would be released this year since two Polanski titles were released last year, but I live in hope.

I wouldn't be surprised if they released The Before Trilogy in conjunction with Boyhood. It's just a matter of when Paramount's distribution rights for Boyhood expire.

I know I'm going to anger a lot of people here but for me it's Before Sunset

The reunion between Celine and Jessie that starts off so innocently, before turning into a confession of passionate desires and longing, mixed in with regret is very moving. That scene when they're both in the car is the antidote to every single saccarhine romantic movie every made.

For me, nothing tops the original. The sequence of shots of all the empty locations at the end of the film is pure poetry.

OK, this is only partially On-Topic. But since Wes Anderson has some movies in the Collection, and he gets some discussion in this thread, I thought I'd ask here.

I've never been a big fan. But I haven't really given his films a good chance, either. So I was thinking that I would maybe re-evalute how I feel about Wes' films. Where do you guys who are fans (or even not) feel would be a good place to start?

Moonrise Kingdom or Fantastic Mr Fox are great, I really loved The Gran Budapest Hotel as well.

I've only seen the first few Wes Anderson films, and, while I have no interest in owning them myself, I'll agree that some of them have their moments.

Bottle Rocket and Rushmore are the two that intrigued me back in the day, and they're probably a great starting point.
