I wouldn't have thought of music videos in the CC prior to what I'd seen about Lana DEl Rey, so I figured if she is in the club Gaga should be too! (Though Madonna is the real queen of music videos. And also pop.)
I've never seen any of her videos and I wasn't aware that music videos were relevant again either.

I'm not really a fan of any of the music documentary releases that CC have put out, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

The potential good news is that, in the past when announcements have been delayed a day, we usually get the announcements earlier in the day on the following day. More opportunity for our friends across the pond to discuss the releases.

I've been done with my work shift for nearly each one of the past 12 months' announcements, too, so hopefully I'll be around this time.

My work calendar is actually pretty open today (as in meeting-free) so fingers crossed announcements will fall during a time I can fully geek out over the new releases!

Actually kind of curious -- what are others' announcement day rituals?

I go to each catalog page, read up on the film and its special features, scramble to find if there's a way I can watch it prior to its (re-)release, and if not, watch relevant movies from the same director (when available). (Not like I can watch it right then and there, but at least adjust my Netflix / Hulu queue accordingly.)

Recently had someone let me use their Hulu account, never really grasped the breadth of how many Criterions are available to watch. I know how I'll be spending my free time in the coming months!

I'm not much into special features, so I'll either skim over the supplement listing or not read it at all.

I won't actively seek out a film prior to its Blu-ray release because I like to see a film for the first time in the best possible format.

I do check rottentomatoes and imdb to see how a film has been critically and popularly received. I'm a bit of a slave to the critics, I will admit. But with so many films out there, it helps to weed out the stuff that is (possibly) not worth my time.

the good people here always successfully pique my interest in films that I had not previously heard of, so MANY times, I'll feel very neutral towards the announcements only to discover later on that great films have been released.

Downhill Racer would be a nice BLU upgrade. Those old days of DVD/ BLU announcements were awful to see what we would get on DVD only and not blu. Paramount deal had many casualties. D.R. was one of them.

Surprised the retail price for Jellyfish Eyes Blu-ray is so cheap ($29.99).

Hmmm I thought Akijama's post was a joke but those are the titles.

Glad to see Downhill Racer - great winter title ... but was hoping for After Hours or whatever the clock title was.

Speedy looks interesting.

I'm actually quite excited for the Burroughs doc, it didn't come around my area when they screened it. In for Speedy as well.

Speedy is one of Lloyd's best and I like William Burroughs, so I'll probably give that one a shot at some point in time.
Not interested in the other two though.
Was hoping for better but I'm still excited for Speedy at least!

They tweeted something about trying to keep the price down in hopes that Polaroid would give it a shot.

Time to take some flack in here: Jellyfish Eyes is the only one I have a remote interest in and with the nice price point, became an easy purchase.
