Lackluster month. Doesn't change the fact that this year was absolutely stellar.

Yeah, I have no complaints and will buy all four. In fact, I predicted 2/3, which is a rarity, but December is a fairly predictable month.

We have a stellar October and November coming, and hopefully a lot more in 2016 (Decalouge, Before, Koker, Wenders, New World).

Maybe A Brighter Summer Day? It would seem it's on the horizon, after seeing it on the TCM Schedule for September. Even though they pulled it, that must mean they have a watchable print available.

In for Speedy absolutely, and probably Borroughs.

But I'm very positive about 2016 being excellent, especially if they start dishing out the Wenders.

Really surprised they're upgrading "Downhill Racer". I saw it several years ago and thought it was really mediocre. It's not bad, but just a very formulaic film IMHO.

Slightly disappointed Afterhours wasn't announced. Hard to believe one of Scorsese's best hasn't seen the light of day. WTF, Warner Bros?

Thank the lord. Now the Burroughs crowd can stop complaining.

Has After Hours been confirmed to be with Criterion, or is it speculation?

Speculation based on the New Years Day cartoon clue.

I am extremely confident that it'll come out in 2016. Hopefully early.

A real snoozer of a month, but that's fine, I'll be getting a few new releases and narrow down some older ones for November's sale. All told I will have bought no less than 6 releases from this year, not bad. Though I will say, the few I've watched so far (Don't Look Now, Watership Down, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders) I've enjoyed but didn't particularly impress me. Mulholland Drive is great and Dressed to Kill is fun, so it'll be nice to get those. Kwaidan I haven't seen, hopefully that one delivers.

Downhill Racer intrigues me, but the audience reception isn't as kind as the critics, not sure but I'll keep it in mind. Speedy is somewhat interesting, but I wasn't so enamored with Safety Last! so.....I did like one Lloyd short film that I saw in a film class once however (can't remember the title for the life of me, only one visual), it had a touch of melancholy but was also funny of course.

Edit: I should add, there are plenty 2015 BD releases that I will get at some point, just not this year.

I thought The Big Clock was also being discussed for that clue. Don't get me wrong, I'd love After Hours but I was just wondering if Criterion or Scorsese hinted it was coming.

Any Scorsese film is a fairly significant title, so you have to wonder if Warner is sitting on "After Hours" and will release it as a standard catalog release at some point. Just a simple upgrade of the old DVD. That's what I'm thinking at this point. There are a lot of titles ("Barry Lyndon" being one that comes to mind) that Warner could have handed off to an independent label for a more comprehensive edition, but they chose to release it themselves as a bare-bones catalog release. Given Scorsese has a built in fanbase, it's fair to wonder if Warner is willing to pass the baton on "After Hours".

I think due to the hands of the clock matching a screenshot of the movie title , and the fact that Warner Bros licensed Criterion some of their titles raised this speculation, but yeah no real confirmation other then I think someone mentioned that Scorsese was involved with a transfer awhile ago.

I hope so. It is overdue for release. 2015 would mark its 30th Aniv.

Default After Hours

I know when Scorsese was working on the BLU for King of Comedy Fred Armisen had a talk with him and brought up After Hours and Scorsese mentioned he was also working on a HD transfer for After Hours. It could have been thru WB / Geffen Company release but I would have think they would have released it long ago.

With that new years clue also known (yeah it could be The Big Clock) but it gives me hope because he was in fact working on a new transfer. (I'm sure with a green push) I cringe but I guess at this point I just want it on BLU.

For me this has been a great year, although right now I am at 26 SKU purchases (or want to at some point), which is not the highest year for me, but also not the lowest, but I still have a lot of this year films to see, so that could change.

From December, I am sure I will get Speedy at least.

I would be happy with BOTH After Hours and The Big Clock. Both seem to be Criterion type titles.
