Actually, now that I think about it, if Criterion has released such films as Antichrist and Fat Girl, I don't see why they shouldn't release a film of the same caliber, as well.
Irreversible would make a fine Criterion release, luckily Enter The Void has already a blu-ray release, so that can't be.

Criterion could've had Enter the Void but they chose to pass.

A wise choice.

Hey!
So how often does Criterion update their "coming soon" section on their website? Do they add new titles every month?
Thanks!

I wouldn't read too much into it. Not everyone that goes in there is visiting because one of their films is getting a release.

Usually near the middle of each month on a weekday.

I stewed over this and finally decided to run the bid up to $20. From there it must have gotten out of hand.

If you watched that scene and actually laughed, then there's something wrong with you.

You're right, it's extremely difficult to realize that it's a scene in a movie where everything is acted.

Then there's no such thing as a disturbing scene in a movie.

Why be affected by anything in a movie?

...if you know it's all just acting.

While this whole discussion is a little odd, this statement seems to indicate you think all films are fictional and full of acting?

Because some films are so well made and the acting is so flawlessly executed that it's difficult not to be moved. The entire
[Show spoiler]rape scene
in Irreversible is poorly made and forced (no pun intended), in my opinion, that it's laughable.

I totally didn't cry in Toy Story 3 because I just reminded myself toys don't actually come to life and in the end it's all 1's and 0's anyway.

Absolute best way to enjoy film: constantly thinking it's all acting and is just a movie

This is the best way to enjoy a film?

I thought it was when you're moved by it and it feels real and you can connect to the characters.

On a side note we should probably be spoilering references to specific scenes in movies...

This happens on occasion here...

A discussion is being had and one party will make some kind of metaphor to expose the supposed absurdity of the other member's argument. Then three other people pile on (one of whom is always a first time poster.. no offense to the new guy/gal, btw...) and blast someone for something that he didn't say - in this instance, something that isn't even remotely close to what he said.

Anyway... Scottie - you have found yourself in circular argument hell. I do not envy you. I've been there. Kind of annoying.

So just to set this straight, iScottie can be moved by films right? it's just that when the acting is too obvious it doesn't have the same impact.

BTW I thought the scene in Irreversible
[Show spoiler]was too convincing to felt comfortable, the acting is top notch
, and also talking about Toy Story how does this apply to Animated movies?

I think movies, at least good ones trick the brain in a more profound level, which I understand it works different for everyone, I just feel sad for people with too low threshold that can't feel anything just because it is an animated movie, and think it's only purpose is to make you laugh.
