Just saw LOVE and I am pleasantly surprised, I loved every moment of it, but I can easily see if you aint a fan you'd hate it.

I think I STAND ALONE would make a great release as I can't find any decent copy son it myself, or a release of I STAND ALONE, IRREVERSIBLE and ENTER THE VOID would be ace .

Ah I can only hope, I know his film aint for everyone. LOVE did put NYMPHOMANIAC to shame though... Oh Lars.

I'm interested to see it, will wait for the disc or stream though. Never been a big fan of Noe but he's worth checking for every time.

As much as I really like some of the ideas and scenes in Nymphomaniac, I found it incredibly hard to sit through the whole thing a second time when the directors cut was released. Its ambitious and bold but doesn't quite work for me at such a run time. Your comment makes me a bit more interested to see Love.

Actually, his name was Sasa Daisaku in the Zatoichi movie. It isn't the same character from the Kurosawa movies, though of course meant to be interpreted by audiences as such.

Many, myself included, have taken the confirmation that A Fuller Life is coming to Criterion to mean that it's going to be included as a supplement on PICKUP. The new restoration is beautiful, I'd heartily recommend the UK disc as a worthwhile stopgap.

Yeah, I think Yojimbo means bodyguard or something like that. I just refer to him by that since his actual name seems to always be vague.

My Criterion collecting goes back to the laserdisc days of the 80s and 90s. Criterion has exposed me to some great films and filmmakers that I probably would not have seen if it wasn't for Criterion.

The plastic Scanavo Blu-ray cases that are used for the Criterion titles are much more formidable than the flimsy standard blue cases that are used to house all of the other releases. If there is a zombie outbreak, and you try to throw the standard blue cases at the undead, then they will simply bounce off harmlessly. One of the Criterion Scanavo cases, however, could do some serious damage to a zombie, especially if you throw it at a good speed and hit the zombie right in the temple. That's the ticket...you have to hit the zombies right at the vulnerable spot by their brains. I've got a couple of hundred of these Criterion Scanavo cases here at home in the event of a zombie takeover. After I've used up all of those cases and my options have run out, I'll probably just find a gun with one bullet and end it before the other zombies get me. I also enjoy the Criterion Collection because they routinely select films that are hugely influential, but under-recognized here on these shores, and present them with transfers that are usually stunning and supplements that are always informative. My years of enjoying Criterion titles have been quite fruitful, because I've discovered many films that have turned out to be genuine fun favorites, and I've learned a great deal about the "cinematic family tree" from which contemporary films are descended.
