You guys have to remember it's not like Criterion can choose any movie they like, they have to have the rights for it.

I'll tell you what, Little Children doesn't even have a blu-ray release, so it would seem some is sitting on the rights.

Having used that as an example, how well would it sell? Criterion is a business at the end of the day and their market is a very niche one.

I'm not so sure about that second sentence.

(1) Twilight Time's rights are for the Blu-ray. Kino Lorber Studio Classics brought out a DVD release this past May. It's unknown how long Kino's license goes for, and I doubt that Criterion would accept a deal only for Blu-ray.

(2) Twilight Time has said on Facebook that there's a good chance of them re-issuing The Train.

I don't know if Jon Mulvaney does or does not exist, but it feels like he exists, and that's good enough for my sense of truthiness.

I watched Blue Velvet last night. A notch below Mulholland, but still a fantastic film. Once you start watching Lynch films it is a fun, eerie ride. I need to get Lost Highway and Inland Empire next.

Will all of Lynch's films wind up on Criterion at some point?

Well, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is highly unlikely...

Wasn't thinking about that title, but I have it in the Twin Peaks set. I also haven't seen Wild at Heart. Not paying $50 for a Twilight Time blind buy.

What's a better blind buy in terms of accessibility and overall viewing experience: Breaker Morant or A Room With a View? Thanks!

Aside from Dune (which I haven't seen but have heard nothing but negativity), Wild at Heart is probably Lynch's weakest film.

I think you're wrong.

...Wild at Heart marked me the deepest.

It's a ten-way tie for last.

Breaker Morant is more universal, I feel and, even with its period setting, more pertinent to the times with its questioning of the definition of war crimes.

Saw Dressed to Kill tonight for the first time. Really enjoyed it, especially the twist at the end. Didn't see that one coming. My first blind buy of this sale, cant wait to grab some others this weekend.

I don't understand the negativity towards Dune.
Maybe those that are negative wanted a totally uncomprehensible film to call it a masterpiece?

What, Dune isn't incomprehensible for the most part? On top of that it's just really, really boring.

Agreed. I'd also recommend Breaker Morant over Room with a View.
