Great lineup, but I still hope they add some upgrade.
With the exception of The Kid and The Graduate, this would be a meh month. Hoping for some solid upgrades.

Those two alone are enough to make this a "holy shit" month.

Plus they happen to be the two of the five that are already abundantly available on Home Video. What's so exciting about this?!?

I think I am probably the only one who have never had a strong love for The Graduate. I think is a very good film, but I have never had the connection to it that most people have.

I'm more excited for the other 4 films than the two popular titles, just because I like experiencing something new. Plus Troell, Oshima!

In terms of Troell, I liked Everlasting Moments, but found it difficult to sit through Here is Your Life.

In terms of Oshima, I didn't particularly care for Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence and I detested In the Realm of the Senses.

A region A blu of both cuts of The Kid? Where? Admittedly, it will take some impressive extras to make me double-dip onThe Graduate, but it's still an impressive month.

If this is, indeed, the lineup for today, then I'm in for The Kid and The Graduate (providing that The Graduate has a transfer that improves upon my current Blu-ray).

The Emmigrants and The New Land both look really interesting, though.

I need to be more judicious with my blind buys in 2016. Not because I've had any bad blind buy experiences (I actually haven't.), but because I've got a mountain of still-unwatched Blu-rays that I need to catch up on watching. I'm considering limiting my 2016 purchases to limited edition discs (Twilight Time, Scorpion Releasing, etc.) and classic era film noir Blu-ray releases, but we'll see.

Neither are really representative of his work. Watch Violence at Noon. He was pretty out there, but quite the filmmaker. Both are more on the artistic side, which may not work for everyone.

I saw it once years ago and have never felt inclined to return to it. Like CriterionBlues, I'm more interested in the films I haven't heard of.

I don't own any Chaplin titles and have only seen City Lights, so although I'd like to see it one day, The Kid doesn't really excite me much either.

I'd say Modern Times is his best silent film and The Great Dictator his best talkie. Give them a view!

Yeah, a month where I know for sure I am buying two of the titles is a pretty good month for me, I still haven't seen the other 4 but they sound interesting enough.

I almost purchased a copy of Death By Hanging yesterday, so needless to say I'd be on board with that announcement.

I'll second the request for "Jeanne Dielman ..." . I want to read the label on the milk bottle.

I tried "The Big Chill." It's a real slog. "Paths of Glory" and "Kiss Me Deadly" are slogs on rewatch. "Kiss Me ..." has an extra featuring Alan Cox, in which he says "Repo Man" is a fine film, and I have been able to rewatch that.

Like "Mulholland Drive," I am happy with Studio Canal's "The Graduate."

I caught like 7 minutes or so of Limelight on TCM last week. I thought it was a warm little film that I'd like to check out in its entirety. It was about 15 minutes into the movie
[Show spoiler]when he takes the girl upstairs and then reflects on his time as a clown and an act w/ a flea.

I'm so close to goin' to B&N w/ coupons in hand... spending the $80 it would require and walking out of there w/ all 5 titles.

So a little of topic, but close.... I'm watching IFC's Documentary Now (s01e01) and the "documentary" they are showing has a very familiar looking film company logo. Check out the screenshot attached. Thought it was quite funny.
