I totally agree with the jeeez part and Elvis must be right he's after all the King. I'm just happy about any of this movies comming out on Blu-ray. I don't see the need to complain about the cardboard cases, but some people have an obsession about it if you look at this thread an maybe should start a new thread just with the "Criterion Collection cardboard discussion"?

Over on criterionforum.org, it seems that cdnchris must already have his DVD copy of "For All Mankind" since he has posted the following about the standard DVD...

Quote:
I haven't been through it all but at first glance this new DVD looks to have been cleaned up rather extensively when compared with the original DVD. It's window boxed but it looks good.
With that said, it's amazing how early some of these copies get sent out. It shouldn't be too long, then, before the blu-ray copies start trickling out to the reviewers.

That would be wonderful to have Fellini films come out on Blu! I just don't want to pay a lot since some titles are quite expensive and then find out they are coming out on Blu.

got my copy of "last year" yesterday!
Packaging is actually pretty nice, the booklet is HUGE! Makes it a little difficult to slide out of the paperboard sleve.
Plan to watch it in the next couple days.

yeah, mine is sitting on my desk at work teasing me.

im usually not one to ***** about cases, but this one is actually pretty ridiculous. the booklet is so thick that the whole thing bulges - it really doesnt even fit. it took me about 3 minutes of pushing to get the inner case out of the sleeve.

oh well. im excited about this release and very very happy to add it to the collection.

My Last Year came in.

It was a super pain in the butt to get the slip cover off because the booklet is so thick.

Mine looks like it's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.... but tomorrow is the day our new roof is being put on, so since the movie room is in the attic...... I'm not going to be able to watch it until all the work is done

at least I'll be home all day for the event, so I'll be picking up the mail when it arrives.

I'm in! Just placed my pre-orders for "Pierrot le fou" and "The Complete Monterey Pop Festival." I thought about pre-ordering all three Monterey Pop discs and see how the pricing balances out in the end, but I decided to skip all that BS for now.

Same here. But I was never gonna worry about the pricing of Monterey Pop. I'd rather have the complete set, even if it's a few bucks more than getting them individually.

You could watch it under the stars, if you don't have a roof when the workers leave!
