Am I just crazy of was there a rumor a couple years ago about Criterion getting Suicide Club? Well Sion Sono's more recent movie Love Exposure needs US distribution, and I would love to see that on blu. Also The Wayward Cloud and All About Lily Chou Chou but I think that is asking a little much from Criterion.

Weekends always seem slow on the C thread. I know all these movie nerds don't have alot to do, so I don't know why.

Myself, I was just hanging out with Lou Reed watching some Hopper flicks. You know, same ol' days.

Hey CG...I rented "The American Friend" from NetFlix...a very good film. I might watch it with the commentary today, as it features Wim Wenders and Dennis Hopper.

This one on DVD I might purchase...it's a good print...need to see who is responsible for this particular version of this film. Bruno Ganz is a very good actor. We all know about Hopper...

Nicholas Ray does and admirable job as Derwatt.

The Leopard
Two Lane Blacktop

...and thought I was done. Logged back in the next day and snagged Shock Corridor and Blast of Silence. A good haul all in all

Made one last dip into the B&N sale myself and came away with The Ingmar Bergman Trilogy. Only title left that I would even consider at this time is By Barkhage but it just doesn't really appeal to me. Looks like an overpriced bunch of short experimental films to me. I read the review but that didn't do much for me either.

On a side note, I bought The Curious Case of Benjamin Button from a third party and it came without a slipcover or booklet. My bad, but does anyone know where I might pick up the missing parts?

I was trying my best to prevent any more purchases but I figured why not get "Kapo" and "Paddle to the Sea" since they are both under $8 and somehow ended up buying "Loves of a Blonde" and "And God Created Woman..." instead. I think the best way I'm going to stop taking advantage of this sale is by shutting down my computer. Hehe... Hopefully temptation does bite anyone else on here in the arse.

Transfer definitely looks good, but Criterion good?
Do you think they will use the same transfer for they release? I'm hoping they include A LOT of extras. :P

I would say either from the seller, which doesn't look like will happen, or through Paramount. You're not gonna find it via Criterion. Maybe some poor sap on a forum will give you their copy, but I doubt it.

Criterion will most likely do its own transfer. Wonder when we'll be seeing it.

Criterionforum.org has a thread for every Criterion release. But you'll likely need a spare hazmat suit to venture over there.

No. I just think you need to have less of any kind of life to keep up with the ramblings for individual releases in this forum.

People in here rarely talk about actual Criterion releases, anyway, unless it has something to do with replacement cases, new release speculation, upcoming sales, list after list of titles that people own or buy, etc.
