The kids have discovered where the presents are hid. Those like me who still believe in a Criterion Santa Clause will just have to stay away until after the goodies have been placed under the tree.

Still get a kick out of Italy's and Shell's early announcements, especially when their snares actually catch an unwary rabbit or two.
I totally agree. I would prefer to be surprised, and all these phantom pages and possible film releases kind of take the fun out of it. I'm all for spoilering any links until the releases are announced by Criterion.

It'll be impossible to control the info once it's posted, even if it's spoiler'd. People are just going to blurt out the titles.

Honestly not sure what the big deal is.

If the films hadn't been announced but the titles were listed for pre-order on Amazon, I have a hard time believing that people would care.

We're browsing through phantom pages, something that has happened since I started posting here several years ago. If someone happened to stumble upon all of the films in the "Coming Soon" page on Criterion's website before the announcement was made, would that also be a big deal?

I don't think anyone is saying its a big deal. Just a preference to not be spoiled, which is just as valid of a choice as URL diving for early announcements. Putting a tag on a link takes less than 5 seconds, I think it's a reasonable request.

The Lean standalone is a stunner. Never would have expected them to split up that set.

Love the announcement of Phoenix. One of 2015's best films for sure, and an ending for the ages.

Ugh! Mifunefan!!
The Only Angels have Wings is a bit ugly cover (I would expect an image of handsome Cary Grant), but still I prefer it than the others I mentioned.
It has character!

@Nuck
I'd love a Criterion WATERWORLD!

It would have been different if it was a DVD set.

Also not crazy that they're doing a Stillman Trilogy. That means I have buy two films I already have to get the slip and Barcelona. (Just because I'm Criterion OCD)

I was expecting it forever, but now that is here I don't know if I should buy this or the Lean set.
I've seen 2 more from that set:
Blithe Spirit: I did like it, but I'd purchase mostly for nostalgia purposes because it's one of my earliest memories of watching a live-action film, and I only remembered a green woman.
This Happy Breed: Liked it, but I am not sure if I liked it to buy.

edit: About those Kennedy films.
Are they good? has anyone seen them?
I'm not a fan of documentaries, nor political films, but I did love JFK (the film), and watched The Kennedies too (the TV series), and somehow (seeing a trailer now too for PRIMARY), I'm intrigued to buy.
Although I don't like that such kind of documentaries are kind of fake. I mean, noone is going to say what he/she REALLY thinks in that camera.
