Bro looking through your collection, you own nearly 1350 titles and about 30 Criterions (didn't do the exact count). So you clearly don't like much they put out. Would you be satiated by a Michael Bay box set? An "Armageddon" upgrade?

Part of me wonders if the Whit Stillman 90s set will have a better transfer of Last Days of Disco though. I mean the first BD was certainly not bad but it had some obvious DNR and just could have been better overall.

Own over 40 blus and I own a lot more than that on DVD. And Bay can be a fantastic director with two films in the Criterion Collection.

Why do people get so pointlessly upset whenever new releases are announced anyway?

There are a ton of blu rays I'm waiting for but I don't kick over a lamp just because some of them don't get announced (and some probably never will). And if none of the titles interest me in any given month, so what? I just won't buy them. Nothing to get upset about.

How does one put together their collection here.

I keep looking for that option, but can never find it.

You seem to come off as so negative about their announcements month after month. Do you really find nothing you're into from them month after month? I think their slate of announcements so far this year has been, objectively, pretty damn good.

I doubt there will be new transfers, just the same old discs and packaging based on the Andre & Shawn previous box, although it is weird this is offered at an even lower price: SRP: $79.95 instead of $99.95, so you basically get one for free.

Just go to a release page, and click on the add to collection icon, below the cover.

Just look up each film you own and click the 'Add to Collection' icon which is one of three below the cover icon of the film. It's the film strip icon that is on the left of the three. It's a bit time-consuming, but so worth it to keep track if you have a big collection.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but Phoenix is available to stream on Netflix if you want to check it out before you buy. It's fantastic BTW.

Make sure to not set the amount paid for each release if you don't want to suffer later seeing the statistics section

Damn I could have got a nice car now that I see it, or maybe better an amazing home theater system with no blus to play in it

I've wanted to see Last Days of Disco for ages. The other two are really good, IMO. But it's been a while since I've seen them, so I'm really looking forward to this box.

And oh my god, I was just watching the trailer for Last Days again, and sheesh! Looking at Kate Beckinsale -- she looks like a kid! Makes me feel old. Heh.

Blithe Spirit is a lot of fun too. The set absolutely is worth having, but Brief Encounter is a masterpiece and worth purchasing for those who can't afford of are not as interested in the other titles.

Oh, they actually did do announcement today.... I'm just seeing them.

I'll go with Only Angels Have Wings to replace my TCM disc.

I found a way that may save you some time. You can do one-touch (or one-click) adding by typing the title into the search bar at the top of the website, then hovering over the title you want to add. While hovering, but not clicking, the "add to collection" option will appear. Simple as that. That's how I've been doing it for a while now.

I for one am excited that they are releasing Brief Encounter as a stand alone release. The film is a masterpiece and this will allow more people to pick it up. I will get it since I haven't felt like buying the entire set. Now I am just waiting for a stand alone release of The Last Picture Show.
