Late Autumn (first ever release originally on eclipse set?)
Night on Earth

There is also several others listing only DCP, like Wrong Move and A Touch of Zen, but also some stuff like from Demy and Varda that ended only on DVD or hulu.

I've seen Goalie and Alice. Those prints look great.

There is a lot of Wenders stuff on that list, I guess everything will end up being released at some point in the future.

BTW when are the year end's poll results going to be announced ?

Is the Late Ozu Eclipse series worth picking up? After watching Tokyo Story and Late Spring, I'm craving more Ozu and An Autumn Afternoon seems a little too similar to Late Spring. What are your opinions?

I ordered my Criterion Blu-ray of Gilda from Amazon along with some other discs, so they are holding on to it for now to ship later with my other stuff. That's too bad, because I have a hankering to watch it this weekend. I might delve into a few other Criterions later on while I'm snowed in.

However, my UK region free set of the four Lethal Weapon movies showed up at my doorstep this week, so that will take up a lot of my viewing. These aren't exactly the most cerebral flicks, but I've been dying to revisit them lately, particularly the first two movies. Tonight, I'm probably going to watch Straight Outta Compton, and then I'll delve into the Lethal Weapon movies tomorrow morning.

MoC release is OOP , they did release a boxset with 8 films before it went out, but it is now OOP too.

Ugetsu is one my favorites of Japanese cinema. Saddened that the Masters of Cinema box set went out of print and now command big bucks

Those were my first three Ozu's, in order. I love all of them, but An Autumn Afternoon is my favorite. It was his last film, which I think makes it an important one in his catalogue. It's also in color, unlike the first two.

I've seen prob a half dozen Ozu's at this point, and while they all share very similar DNA, they all feel different to me. I'd highly recommend An Autumn Afternoon.

I'll use the same words I did when I first saw Mathilda May in Lifeforce: "Wow!, What a great set!!!" Seriously, the Late Ozu box set is one of the best purchases, Criterionwise, I've made. Based on the two you've already seen, for a complete change of pace try Good Morning- a very funny comedy that shows the lighter side of Ozu.

You can sometimes luck out on eBay or different forums. I got another copy as a gift for my uncle sometime last summer for $20. I wouldn't doubt CC will release it at some point but who the hell knows when. Their last Mizoguchi was quite some time ago if I'm remembering correctly.
