So, for Criterion's impending Flash sale, I was wondering if someone could help me. I've never partaken before, as I'm in the UK and they don't ship to the UK. But I recently experimented with a re-shipping company, that gives me a US address in California. Will Criterion charge me sales tax on top of my order? I'm completely ignorant to sales tax based on location, we don't have such a thing here in the UK. I can't see it mentioned on Criterion's site. I notice it says shipping is free if you spend over $50 which is great, as it just means I'll need to pay for the reshipment fee.

Do these Flash sales typically last just a weekend? Is everything 50% off, and how many do Criterion typically have a year? When can I look forward to the next?

Sale lasts 24 hours. There are two a year one Feb/March, the other in Sep/Oct.

I should be getting my copy of The Emigrants/The New Land in the mail today (along with Crimson Peak and Spectre), so hopefully I'll be able to watch the films in the next few days. I've only seen Troell's Everlasting Moments, which I enjoyed but didn't find that I needed to own. I've also blind-bought Here is Your Life, but I've yet to watch it.

Anyone else notice the delay in Prime shipping delivery estimates today? I was ready to make a purchase and noticed items were set to arrive 2/15 or 2/17. I put a blu-ray in the cart to see if I 'd get the same and it said 2/15 estimate.

Yeah, I saw it with other items as well. I needed something by Saturday and had to opt for the 3.99 one day shipping...

No sales tax for California since Criterion have no physical presence here.

I just ordered a copy of The Homesman, and it's scheduled to arrive on February 12. Could it be that one of the warehouses is located in an area where the weather is bad and causing shipping delays?

Received The Emigrants/The New Land today. Am halfway through the first movie. Man, there are some heartbreaking moments in the movie.

It really shows how hard life was, and it's a very relevant movie with what is happening in the world today. Really looking forward to watching the rest.

I live in Europe and paid express shipping for this one after having a series of orders that took 3-4 weeks. The premium shipping sure is expensive, but in this case it was worth it to have it in hand after two days. I won't pay for such shipping every time, but I will definitely going to do it for McCabe & Mrs. Miller.
