Just finished watching Marienbad...... great transfer...... and of course, great movie.

I had a heck of a time getting the disc off of the spindle.... it's recessed a lot more than most, or maybe my spindle was just too large..... either way... it's another welcome addition.

I sent an email to Jon Mulvaney about the Marienbad packaging as well, and I got the same reply pretty much.

Take notes, Magnolia, this is how you do customer service. (they gave us crappy subs on Let The Right One in and wouldn't replace our discs when they put out a new one with the original subs)

I remember having a problem with a damaged DVD cover (the security sticker had taken away some of the cover image) a few years ago, and Criterion sent me a replacement to Ireland absolutely no problem.
Top class customer service.

The review sound's interesting and PQ look's pretty good. I was hoping to hear feed back from someone who as seen it to see if it would be a good idea. It does sound like a good documentary.

Is it not in 4:3 because it was done originaly for TV, back in 1989? I don't know please don't bash me I never heard of this movie until this morning when I saw the review.

Jon at Criterion responded to my email promptly and said he would send me a corrected Last Year at Marienbad slipcover, today.

Love this company!

I just did the same. I hope he can help me out. I actually had to tear mine slightly to remove the case.

Just letting you guys know that I just received my replacement slipcase for "Last Year At Marienbad." As soon as you pull it out, you can tell that it has a much wider space than the first-run slipcases. The difference, when measured, seems to be just about an 1/8". That's a pretty big difference, I'd say.

4:3 is the original aspect ratio.

Wow..that almost sounds like it would be a little too large. My is difficult, but it does come off, and it went back on easier. I think I'll just keep the original.
