I'll wait a bit, as it plays pretty often on HD Net, so I have it sit on my DVR on and off. But I want to own it. If it's not re-issued soon, I'll break down and shell out the bucks. I got lucky with The Big Heat. A seller on Amazon had one original copy that they'd never opened, and they sold it to me at cost.

I'll wait a few days, and buy Judgment at Nuremberg, because I don't want to risk its selling out.

Believe you me, belcherman, I am going to get a region-free Blu-ray player here soon. I'll tire of watching my imports on my laptop, and take the plunge. Maybe the new player won't freeze up on Taxi Driver.
Don't wait on Judgment at Nuremberg! I preordered it because I had never bought a TT before, and didn't want to miss out on it. Here we are a year and a half later!

Still the best written legal film of all-time. As a former prosecutor, I remember watching the film often because of how well-written the courtroom scenes are.

I ordered Coming to America, Trading Places, Back to School, and Ms. 45 from Deep Discount DVD to take advantage of their 15% off sale.
I ordered Crypt of the Living Dead from Vinegar Syndrome.
I bought Spotlight from the Target store down the street during lunch.
This is the second flash sale in a row I've had to pass on because of other purchases. I just ordered Lang's Die Nibelungen, The Warner Archive Bogart releases (Key Largo and The Big Sleep), Preminger's Laura, and WA's release of the Joan Crawford film Possessed. I also got a helluva haul from my family for my birthday:

Well, Kid... I think you went the Safe route by going with The Graduate. But I'd say you took a Blind Chance on People On Sunday.

I've seen most of them, yes. They are just terrible storytellers. Even Llewyn Davis has zero story, no changing character, really nothing that gives the film any reason to exist, but I liked it for the music and Oscar Issac. No Country was one of the worst, with the worst climax I think I've ever seen.

Really?

I think Fargo has one of the best screenplays of any film I've ever seen. Good visual story tellers, too, as they have a good ability to advance suspense without dialogue.

The point of Inside Llewyn Davis is that the character doesn't change. As such, he's stuck in a vicious cycle - always a day late and a dollar short. The ending has to be one of their most memorable endings.

Also, I can't think of a better ending in recent history than No Country for Old Men. Everyone thinks the film is about Josh Brolin's character, but it's not.

"Hi, my name is Bill, and I have a classic film addiction. The first step is admitting I have a problem, and, well, I just can't leave Criterion well enough alone."

Here's what I've been thinking since putting in my order:

"You know, Mom just sent you that Kindle book...Francois Truffaut interviewing Alfred Hitchcock. And yeah, you already have Psycho, North By Northwest, Rebecca, Spellbound, Notorious, Rear Window, Vertigo, and The Birds. That's a good start on his filmography...but you don't have any of the films he did before coming to the States. And, oooh, look, the Classic Hitchcock set is only like $48 right now. Since that's not $50, you'd end up paying like $5 for shipping, so you might as well pick up Bergman Island for $10. Win win, right?"

Where does it end? I can afford it. But I swore I wasn't going to spend any more until this time next month, when I hit up FOX Connect to add to my Marilyn Monroe collection, and the Warner Archive Collection that I have yet to explore at all. I mean, The Big Sleep, Key Largo, Out of the Past, Murder My Sweet, and I've been wanting to get The Picture of Dorian Gray, and I need Yankee Doodle Dandy and Passage to Marseille. And there are a bunch of Kino Lorber movies I need, and Twilight Time. I have a bunch more imports I want. And then, The Manchurian Candidate, and Bicycle Thieves will be out, and In a Lonely Place.

And before I know it, it will be July, and Barnes & Noble will be whistling my way, showing a little leg, begging me to come hither with my wallet.

When does it end? Being a classic film fan is like being a hampster running around inside a wheel...rolling on a Möbius strip.
Yeah... I even keep a spreadsheet to track upcoming releases... I have tabs for Criterion, Twilight Time, Kino Lorber Studio Classics, Shout/Scream, Arrow, Olive, Warner Archive, etc... helps me plan my spending ahead of time. It also helps planning for the various sales (Criterion flash, B&N, TT anniversary, etc) in advance... like I did for today's sale.

I was going through the list and noticed there is a dozen or so DVD only titles which came out after CC started Blu-ray disc versions. Almost all of them are listed to have been made from a "new high definition master". Anyone can guess why they didn't release Blu-ray versions of these films? Is it likely CC will revisit these titles and release BD versions?

There's a really pretty blonde girl in the movie (the one on the cover art), but horrible things keep happening to her, and she's surrounded by horrible horrible people, so I wouldn't categorize this as a "Sexy Italian" in the slightest.

It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, though. I guess.

I saw this movie on YouTube a couple of years ago, and quickly decided not to purchase the Blu-ray. One could reasonably argue that, since my initial viewing was by way of an inferior 720p YouTube presentation, I have not had a chance to appreciate the movie as intended. Somehow, though, I don't feel slighted.

I finally watched my copy of Red River which was one of my blind by purchases in the summer of 2014. Very good movie and one I'd recommend for fans of Wayne, Clift, or westerns in general.

I think it is a slight notch below Ford, but still really good.

I think I might sit this sale out. I have four films in my cart (The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, Macbeth, I Knew Her Well, and Ace in the Hole), but I really don't have the money for it. I still have several films coming up that I've pre-ordered and I should probably save my money for them (Room, Carol, Macbeth, Game of Thrones, Brooklyn, The Manchurian Candidate, A Brighter Summer Day, and Bicycle Thieves all for March).
