If it helps, I sat out the sale. I've got too many blu-rays in my to watch pile and I can stand to save some money. There's a few films I want but I held off because I probably wouldn't get to them any time soon.

Least you have the option to sit out and not take part. Some of us are forced into a that choice.

If it weren't for Gilda I probably would have held off too. I'm looking forward to Lady Snowblood and The American Friend but they could have waited for July.

Same here. First one I've sat out since I started collecting. Felt weird but I have so much stuff to watch already and already have all the recent releases that I really felt like I couldn't wait for.

I've sat out Criterion flash sales several times in the past for financial reasons or other. My still-unwatched Blu-ray stack is ridiculous right now, and it'll probably take me a year to go through it, so I was tempted to sit this one out as well.

Yesterday, though, I had some spare cash on hand and the timing worked out in that regard.

My entire tax return that I just received is safe in my "new homeowner emergency fund" and for the exterior painting that our neighborhood homeowner's association is mandating for this summer, but I was lucky to have some disposable money as well this time.

Eventually I'll probably get the new Bond set. Still haven't gotten to Spectre.

I'm definitely watching The Big Sleep, Key Largo, and I Confess this weekend if they arrive in the mail in time. I'm expecting them today or tomorrow.

Before then, though, I'm going to watch my Blu-ray of All the President's Men, since I watched and enjoyed Spotlight last night. I haven't seen All the President's Men in a couple of decades, and Spotlight got me in the mood to revisit it.

I like the film because of its uniqueness. Surely I could do without some parts, but I absolutely love when Benjamin and Daisy are the same age.
