You must study up on Andy Warhol, young sir. His name is right under the banana.

I've heard of him and noticed his name. Just not familiar with pink bananas.

They're kind of like blood oranges (you've had them, haven't you?)... only pink... and banana-like.

No, I actually had to look that one up. Never seen or heard of a blood orange. Apparently they are not common in Florida. Our oranges tend to be... well, orange.

From Wiki...

Quote:
The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967)

The album cover is famous for its Warhol design: a yellow banana with “Peel slowly and see” printed near a perforated tab. Those who did remove the banana skin found a pink, peeled banana beneath. This gimmick would later be repeated on the cover of one of several Velvet Underground boxed sets, also titled Peel Slowly and See, released in 1995.

Hahaha. Yeah, I wasn't sure if any blood oranges came up from Florida, or not. Guess not.

It's a flesh-like color banana after you "Peel Slowly" the banana peel off the Velvet's vinyl.

Edit: well I see CC explained it. Nevermind.

The Seventh Seal (Criterion)

Ok this has to be the weirdest movie ive ever took the time to fully watch. But after giving it my full attention i understood and appreciated its value and meaning. Very intelligent in the deliverance of this movie. A Knight (Antonius Block) that has lost his faith in god and the devil and is very curious to find out if any of it is real.

His partner who just see's 1's and 0's and its pretty hilarious and a very truthful but in a dark way. A very logical character and his handmaiden is beautiful BTW lol.

This movie has a sweet twisted ending and makes you think of religion deeply. I loved the movie and it ended perfectly, but i know there's things i missed i might catch it on a 2nd viewing or just watch the special features .

Now i do believe the only negative to this film is that character development was a little too much, making the film a bit boring at the beginning.

4.5/5

One more thing id like to add is that EVERY character in the movie is in relation to the people that you meet day to day. Very unique. The Knight(Questions God/Religion) His Partner(Believes in fate) The Blacksmith(Weak Minded) The Young Handmaiden (Deceitful) The Jester(Fully Engaged with his Beliefs).

Once again i thought the movie was amazing but if they spent less time on character development i would of gave it a perfect 5

I like that Darjeeling cover, but what's the story with all these "leaked" covers that end up being wrong? We saw it with Paths of Glory and The Thin Red Line too (probably more, just can't remember). Is this a situation where they're just fan made and people think it's Criterion, or is it possibly a case of Criterion leaking them to gauge what people think about them before making it official?

As far as the question about whether or not all the sales effect Criterion shopping habits, the answer for me is: a little bit. If it's something I really want, and can't wait for, I'll pay the pre-order price and not think twice about it.

The change, for me, occurs with titles that I'm kind of borderline on. If it's something I like, but I'm not dying to get my hands on, I'll wait for a sale. Whereas I would normally just pony up the cash. It's also a time that I'll take some risks and make a blind buy or two. Just did that with Yojimbo/Sanjuro for the B + N sale and was incredibly happy I did. That set is terrific.

They are not "leaked" but included with official press releases as temporary cover art.

I see. Isn't it basically the same thing though? Criterion is just the one doing the leaking. If they were in any way official, wouldn't we see them on their website? I still don't understand the reason for doing it...

I think most of em came from the NY area. Great rockin alt-country band. Cheri Knight's Northeast Kingdom was a gem too.
