Ya, that would be about as awesome as going to the dentist to get a tooth pulled.

Bibi Andersson.

If you like her you owe it to yourself to see Bergman's Persona. It's very post-modern, very abstract and avante-garde. Sven Nyvist's cinematography is beyond praise and has influenced countless films. Oh and two of cinema's best actresses in Bibi and Liv Ullmann carry the film.

I hope Criterion can get the rights for Persona on blu

Don't forget, the seven samurai release is going to be a digibook, so theoretically you can put the Wes next to it and it will blend in nicely.

I actually don't mind The Leopard and By Brakhage sets all that much. As long as they are good quality like those two releases I'm ok with it. They are far better than the Warner Bros. digibooks IMO. I'd barely even call what Criterion releases digibooks.

I see what you did there.

Breathless (hopefully) and the New Hollywood set will be some nice digi's.

So far it seems like Blu-Ray sets with different films get individual cases and multi-disc releases get digipaks. It would seem like Breathless being digi and the New Hollywood set getting separate cases would make the most sense.

I wouldn't consider The Leopard to be a digibook either (don't have By Brakhage). If they keep the quality high and don't revert to the original cardboard cases I'll have no complaints.

How did you get those from B&N? I tried to get Chambermaid and Kind Hearts and Coronets and I got cancellation notices. Glad to see you got them though.

What do you guys think the chances of Criterion releasing Fantastic Mr. Fox in a few years being?

I mean, The Darjeerling Limited was already released 2 and a half years ago by Fox, so do you think in a few years, Criterion will obtain the rights to re-release it? Given they have released every other film he has made.

I personally hope they do Life Aquatic, Tenenbaums or Rushmore (in that order) before Fantastic Mr. Fox, as their next Anderson release. It's not that I didn't like Mr. Fox, I thought it was really good, but there's already a really good Blu Ray of it. There's really no need.

Probably near zero. That film is already out on Blu-Ray released by Fox. Seems unlikely Criterion gets rights to re-release it.

I'm not real big on Rushmore or Tenenbaums but I really liked Life Aquatic and would like to see it on Blu.

The New Hollywood set would have to be like the Brakhage set. It won't be 7 plastic cases long like a CHE.

Why would Breathless be a digipak if it's just one disc?
