Eric Skillman would be the only one that would need to edit the design to make it fit for bluray sizes as he is the designer, Caitlin is just the illustrator for the cover design - so would probably be a new design.
It's possible they'd commission a new cover for the blu-ray.

But why would they said the illustrator new stills when they usually keep original cover which is good enough and for HCW its just a crop job.

Unless it's getting a new leaflet with a poster design?

What's wrong with the DVD artwork that it would need the original illustrator to redo it and guessing by the still disc, an entire new cover? they tend to keep those illustrative covers the same fro upgrades >.>

Like with some Wes Anderson some elements are removed such as Life Aquatic, but that si a quick photoshop job rather than hire original designer to redraw :P
Most of the time I enjoy fresh artwork with upgrades.

For example, Lord of the Flies is night and day. On the other hand, I wish they had kept L'Avventura alone.

Yes but those covers were very dated and tbh ugly designs and NEEDED a new design.

Heaven Can Wait has a beautiful illustrations that clearly doesn't need re doing >.> Just like the Wes Anderson upgrades. Like if they were to upgrade Fishing With John (pls no) then it would defo need a redesign lol

I hope its for a new release tbh, and they need more of her illustrations, she's very talented. They need to sell a pano poster for Amacord on their site!

Heaven Can Wait is from the old logo Criterion era. A good candidate to get a new cover, imo.

But the design itself is absolutely fine, they didn't change the Wes Anderson artworks when upgraded (except removed a few background images).

All they'd need is to crop the artwork to fit, and she didn't do the type design, that would have been Eric Skillman, or whoever she worked with...

Im being stubborn but I wont change my view :P!

The Movies! TV network occasionally shows some of Fox's three-strip Technicolor features and I can't stand to look at them. All of the negatives of the ones filmed on nitrate stock were junked in the 1970s after making composited copies on inappropriate film stock, as a result what is left has the worst crushed blacks you will ever see and wonky colors, at least on the TV copies. Cheaper by the Dozen was on the other day and looked just awful. This is especially painful for me as back in the 1980s I saw what I was told was a 1950s Technicolor print of The Gang's All Here that was mind-blowingly great. I know that UCLA has all of the original studio prints of these features and if Fox has restored Heaven Can Wait, I hope that maybe they were able to use some digital wizardry to get the colors and blacks to look right.

I've never seen a the final art leaked, but some of the artist have posted in-progress art (I'm mainly thinking of Zatoichi, where I found three of them and then Criterion Cast found a couple of other in-progress pieces before Criterion officially announced it. Yuko Shimizu posted in-progress pieces from The Ballad of Narayama and the Samurai trilogy but she didn't say what they were for.)

I'm curious if Criterion will announce a U.S. and U.K. lineup on the same date.

If Criterion are upset about people looking through phantom pages, is it really that problematic for them not to update those pages until after they make the announcements?

Just seems like common sense. But I don't know, maybe it's just too complicated and rocket sciency for me to comprehend.
