Assuming the times work out, my plan is to do:

BLITHE SPIRIT
ODD MAN OUT
OUR MAN IN HAVANA
THE LIFE AND DEATH OF COLONEL BLIMP
A PASSAGE TO INDIA
HOBSON’S CHOICE
CHARIOTS OF FIRE
TRAVELS WITH MY AUNT

With DR STRANGELOVE and WHISKEY GALORE being possible if the timing is right (ie, if they fall between two films I want to see)

Col Blimp and Odd Man Out being the only ones I have seen on that list. (I saw A Matter of Life and Death on the big screen late last year)

The story is quite a downer, but it is acted well, shot well, and considering its near 2 1/2 hr run time, it is never uninteresting. Highly recommended. One can get a copy for $5 or less. No one seems too intent on releasing his films, so I'd say add it to your collection if you like his work.
I saw Nobody Knows at a local indie theater when it was released. It's a truly great film, and quite heartbreaking in so many ways.

I like the serendipitous effect of the closing credits saying that the mother was played by You.
(You is an actress who also appears in Still Walking.)

While I haven't finished the supplements yet, I think A Brighter Summer Day is the Criterion release of the year so far for me. I don't watch/listen to many commentaries, but I think this one will get a listen sooner rather than later, even with its 4 hour length.

And for whomever asked: Leaflet.

A Brighter Summer Day arrives tomorrow. I get a lot of Criterion delivery notices and they are all nice, but when I got this dispatch delivery, I literally drooled. Been waiting for this one for too long.

I have one of those $10 B&N GCs from November GC promotion that expires in 10 days and 2 20% off coupons that will expire in a week, I have to get something...

considering The Graduate, A Brighter Summer Day and Bicycle Thieves. A Brighter Summer Day is the only one I never watched.

I'm not sure how to feel about your 3.5/5 on Letterboxd, though.

I was pretty happy to get my delivery notice, as well. As I stated earlier, I rewatched Yi Yi yesterday and it held up really, really, really well.

I'm not sure how I'll react to A Brighter Summer Day, but I'm optimistic that, at the very least, I'll really enjoy it.

I log my films when I start them and go back and update at the end. 3.5 is my "placeholder" rating which sometimes stays the same but usually changes once I finish the film.

I'm excited to see the direction of ABSD. That short clip on Criterion.com had me so excited. The direction in that minute long piece was great. Edward Yang is simply one of the best directors ever in my opinion.

As for Koreeda, if any film ever needed a Blu ray it would be his film Maborosi. It's one of the most beautifully shot films I've ever seen and the DVDs don't do it justice. Sadly, we're a long way off from it as even the US rights holders are having difficulty with it.

Talking about the clips on Criterion.com, am I the only one who hates that the Three reasons seem to come and go for big lapses of time?

Those are usually great and I liked to collect the ones from the movies I own as a list on Youtube to watch every once in a while, but it is sad that a lot of the titles don't get one, maybe they decided it's too much trouble and doesn't exactly translate into sales, who knows.

I read that the Japanese DVDs put out by Bandai for both Maborisi and After Life are supposed to be pretty good and much better than the US releases. Fabs/shadepain4 - are those the ones that you guys have?

Yes, it's been confirmed before, very likely a boxset with Dragon Inn. Eureka will release A Touch of Zen again, just without the bonus disc and slipcover

I think it's about time Criterion circled back to Kore-eda and Lee Chang-dong. Would like to see more releases from each.

eBay currently has $15 off a $75 purchase with the code C15SPRING.

Below is a link someone shared in the discount announcement thread for a $100 B&N gift card. After the discount you're getting $100 for only $73. I ordered one to tuck away for the July 50% sale.
