That would be the best list possible with what they have coming up. I would buy every single one of those.

But there is no way a movie rents on your account out of nowhere or fees come out of nowhere. There is always a reason why you would have a movie or fees on your account, like someone renting on your account by mistake.
That makes sense, however, I was a little displeased with the way I was treated. I mean, I was over it in no time, but she was making me out to be a liar. Now I understand why based on other people's stories and experiences!

In retrospect, she probably had every reason to act in this manner based on her past experiences with past customers. I understand her plight and empathize with her. I love her. I never knew I could feel this way towards another human being. She made me want to be a better person.

Do you know how long each version is?

The version to stream on NetFlix is 135 minutes. I assume that this is the longer version?

My guess is that New Hollywood is their big December release, a la AK100 from last year. That makes the most sense to me.

But, yeah, sign me up for Modern Times and Night of the Hunter if those make it for November.

I thought this was kinda neat too. Dvdtalk is doing a "no-prize" criterion watching challenge. Maybe help some of you guys open up some of those sealed ones. http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-talk/57...er-2010-a.html

I hope that set is announced Monday.

I am wondering what they will use for the front cover art (hopefully no "Breathless-like" writing), since the films will prob have their own separate cardboard covers, kind of like the Brakhage set.

Probably individual cardboard cases like Brakhage. But I suppose they could end up giving the release separate plastic clear cases within the box like Sanjuro/Yojimbo. I imagine the MSRP will be high enough for the set to justify it.

But that would result in a looonnnnggggg box that needs to fit 7 clear cases. The thin box would tear holding 7 long. So it will most likely be as thin as possible.

Yeah, I predict either one big fold-out digipak, or 7 very thin digipaks. With either option, a slipbox would house them.

My guess, with some of these films being Five Easy Pieces, The Last Picture Show and Easy Rider, that they will be 7 very thin digipaks in one box so that they can have separate covers, being that those 3 films alone are some of the biggest Criterion ever had (popular). I just hope the main cover isn't some text thing like Breathless. The Breathless one is fine, but for 7 films, you need a cover that grabs you and makes you want to pick it up and know what films are involved. Then again, they sold 20+ Kurosawa films in a shoebox with a logo, so I don't know.

Just read the review for Picnic at Hanging Rock, too bad it's region lock B

I hope we get a region A release soon for that one.

Now made my pre-orders for Charade & Seven Samurai. Both are not exactly cheap here in Canada but gotta have them

Where do you make your pre-orders from in Canada ? I've been looking at DVD Planet. Their shipping seems far more reasonable than Amazon (US). Criterion discs are 40 bucks in the stores around me if you can find them. I'm trying to find the best deal because there are a bunch I want in Sept/Oct.

The Australian release of Picinic at Hanging Rock is region free. That's the one I picked up and the quality is great. I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming the U.K. version uses the same transfer.
