Hi,

I'd like to ask, for the release of The Thin Red Line and Charade, are the list of extras released on Blu-ray.com the final list of extras or will more be added? I'm disappointed that Charade only has a commentary track and a feature on Donen and Stone.

I would hope that they would attempt to do a tasteful collage of the cover art of the five films and/or something original that is both tasteful and appropriate.

As MUCH as I'm looking forward to ANY Chaplin that is released this year (I REALLY want The Kid first, but will be happy if it turns out to be Modern Times), I am thrilled that someone is taking the onus on themselves to relese a film set of this calibre.

Check Criterion's own site. If any extras are added or changed, it'll be updated on the title's page. I know some of the extras for "The Thin Red Line" have changed since the first announcement.

I am thrilled for all of the releases hinted at these last 2 months of the year. I mean we could have The Night of the Hunter, Five Easy Pieces, Easy Rider, The Last Picture Show, Sweet Smell of Success, and Modern Times (or any Chaplin) all under the Criterion logo by year's end. That is a huge step IMO for them.

For All Mankind (Criterion)

Wow is first thing i have to say about this film. Very remarkable and a rare experience. You cant get more authentic than the actual thing. This documentary should be implemented and every schooling system's agenda. The mark for mankind leaving earth to explore the moon for the very first time. This film also offers rare clear moon shoots, and i cant explain how i was so involved when they actually landed. I was also stunned on the transfer and on the powerful DTS-MA soundtrack. Bottom line this is a treat non the less and should be Owned by anyone that considers themselves human MUST OWN

I really appreciate the hard work and attention to detail criterion puts into their blus and dvd's. Not only on the technical side but with the packaging as well. You are truly getting what up pay for with Criterion

I watched "Crumb" this morning while the wife and boys slept in...

I had seen it in Soho (NYC) with my wife in a small theater, when it was first released. I hadn't realized how great a documentary it was, until I watched it a second time, 15 years later.

No argument from me! This is the first Criterion DVD I ever bought (only other one was Spartacus) and it's what got me to buy it on BD, during my first B & N 50% sale, when it first came out. I then began to look at other BD titles, and the rest is history.

M (Criterion)

What a flim, What a film. This movie was insanely good, and filled with amazing acting. From the very beginning to the very argumentative ending my eyes didnt blink not once. Is crazy how a film made in 1931 could have such a big impact in 2010! Not only is this film PERFECT in every aspect it also set the path for many films after it. A true CLASSIC and worth Multiple viewings. You get everything thing is this film related to human emotions, and i cant stress anymore how amazing and flawless the actors/actresses performed. This was a complete blind buy for me and im extremely happy with my purchase. This Crime/Thriller/Drama is a MUST OWN without a shadow of a doubt. This movie is so good i really can care less about the technicalities of the disc itself.

lol this flick was great just because there wasnt any acting, everything was real but it still felt like a drama flick. As i stated in my review some of the shots on the moon was amazing! A very good experience is what i felt.

I'm sure it is in this post somewhere, but I take it we don't know what Chaplin is coming? I REALLY want City Lights and it would be my first Criterion. I guess I could settle for any Chaplin, but would be most excited for city lights. If The Third Man didn't go OOP before I had blu Chaplin would be my 2nd Criterion.

Amazon.ca.....tried a few other places but with the shipping it make's very little difference by the time all is said and done.

The Criterioncast guys have teased via their twitter that Chaplin's "Modern Times" is going to be released. Criterion is going to announce officially on monday all the november releases, so then we will know for sure.

As for "The Third Man", even though it's OOP, it can still easily be obtained, as long as you are willing to pay a little extra for it. I found it used at a reasonable deal close to a year ago. The seller made it cheaper since it was missing the booklet, which kinda sucks and I'm hoping I can get replaced, but the important part is the movie.

Yea, it was really good. My favorite thing about it is the way they use Eno's music (particularly towards the end). It's totally hypnotic. It takes images that, by themselves, would be pretty incredible, but combined with that music, takes it to a whole new level.
