It will be interesting to see as I think the version on the Eureka disc comes from a SD source. Some of the film clips are horrible quality too.

It's subjective.

Personally, I find John Smith coming over to the Americas, meeting Pocahontas and the Powhatan tribe, and being one of the major influences in colonization of the New World as an extremely significant and newsworthy event.

You think so? I got the impression from the interview clips that it was originally filmed in HD. I'm sure the archival stuff (photos, film clips, etc..) would be in SD regardless though. I believe the doc is from 2011, so you'd think the source would be for sure HD too.

Dumb question but was curious since I just saw the Wolfpack in the Criterion Closet picking movies video. Do they keep OOP titles in that archive room?

That's actually a good question, there probably is OOP titles unless criterion sells them when they run out of inventory from their store lol

Whenever I see the title, I think of a dictionary's title page. It kind of annoys me that they cut off parts of the letters. I could accept it, if they actually managed to show the whole damn words.

The story was filmed, and film wasn't invented back then!
