Amazon seems to deliver these DigiPaks just fine? What's the story?

If they really wanted to be the elite in packaging too, I think that digibooks>digipacks.

My digipacks already have worn corners (and I haven't done anything to them, I mean I don't use them often, they just lie in my library) but my digibooks are intact!
Let alone the fact that I consider digibooks much more elegant and classy than digipacks with that hardcover.
They're like old books.

I wonder if Criterion could get the rights to Wait Until Dark from WB. Same for Murder By Death from Sony. Highly doubt it, though.

From now on, I want all of the Criterion Blu-ray titles to be cased in these clear protective bubbles...

Criterion can imprint a large "C" at the top of each of these clear bubbles, and then slide the cover art and the Blu-ray disc(s) into the middle of the bubble before shipping them.

The process of storing these in my collection may be somewhat unwieldy, as I will have to have a separate bubble box for each letter of the alphabet in order to sort out the titles, but the risk of damage to each title will be significantly minimized.

I would love a Wait Until Dark Criterion. Heck, even a blu upgrade would be great. All those low light scenes would really cone through.

Must say I've had no issues either and mine are also shipped to the UK like Polaroid. Although he owns significantly more than me so statistically speaking he's going to run into more shipping issues.

Ive had 1 damaged digipak so not sure what he digipak/amazon comment was aimed at me?? but that was Night of the Hunter but I have a feeling it was damaged before postage...

I had so many plastic cases come melted/cracked though at the time I didn't know about Criterions $5 replacement thing other wise id have used that!

DVDWORLDUSA for e was best place to order as EVERY item even digipaks arrived mint condition and very fast!

Not had any issue ordering over eBay either tbh, seems to be when you buy from a collector they package it better (Arrow and Eureka! are also great for deliveries).

But seriously who sells a bluray from America to UK and put its in a vacuum pack.. not even a padded envelope lol >.<

I'm a big digipak fan. However, aesthetically, I prefer a more eclectic, random look to my Criterion shelves. I don't like everything in plastic and I don't want everything in digipaks.

Every month there is usually one headline title. If that or another title was worthy of a larger booklet or digipak, then do it. But, don't put it in cardboard just for the sake of keeping people happy. We're hooked...we'll be ok.

Digipaks are boring and useless as hell, but I love digibooks.

Interesting article about Filmstruck on Indiewire:
http://blogs.indiewire.com/criticwir...rtant-20160426

The article links to another piece by the author about anti-pro-piracy arguments in relation to Prince's music (with some grey areas within there.)

Edit:
Obviously I meant UK to America here. They are good at shipping steel books and nothing else.

Digibooks, digipaks, slipcovers, o-rings, slipcases, amaray, scanavo, I don't really care as long as it isn't an eco-case. Those are a complete waste.

And don't get me started don the amount of plastic cases I received MELTED. YES MELTED. Must've been the vacuum packs some sellers used lol (looked like a thicker bin bag stuck to the case as the envelope).
This is why i always use: http://www.criterion-packaging.co.uk/

Ive received broken plastic cases. Ive never received a broken digibook. Those plastic cases may not rip but they are brittlebrittle and shatter and crack.

I personally prefer plastic cases because at least I can replace them when something happens. For example, my copy of Brief Encounter arrived in a broken case. That being said, I'm still haunted by the memory of opening my copy of Shoah and noticing the entire disc tray destroyed.

I like digipaks and digibooks because they remind me of buying music on vinyl. I was as thrilled as anyone when CDs came along, but you simply can't beat a great record sleeve - many of which are real works of art, especially gatefolds.
