It's also worth noting that Freaks (1932) went OOP recently.

I suppose it could be a clue for The Odd Couple.

Or Revenge of the Nerds.

I have a stray cat that's been coming to my family's backyard for many years now. I feed it daily. Recently another cat has been coming to our yard and getting the leftovers we give our #1 cat, whom I aptly call "Silly".

In any case, I just notified the cat that Cat People is coming to Criterion and he/she nodded in approval, before giving me a "Meowww".

Can't believe they did a Simpsons/Family Guy crossover and we never got a battle between her and him:

Is that a stack of ham sandwiches under the side table? With a cat laying on it?

Lays Ham on Rye

Whoot! It's so obvious!!! It's finally gonna happen.

Having just watched Lemonade, it goes into the same category of my "dream Criterion releases" I placed Mommy in a few months ago. Which is high praise indeed.

I believe this is my first post here in the Criterion Forum.

I've always been a fan of Criterion releases going back to the DVD days. These are the Criterions for select favorite/significant American films that I have added to my "Custom AFI 100 Collection". There are more foreign films on Criterion than American, yet these are the ones I've picked up. Most likely it was because A) No digibook release was made for the film, or, B) The Criterion release was damn nice and was the next best available format to purchase the film on!

Anyways, these are the ones I've added...

Hopefully more great American films will be added to the Criterion lineup!

Coincidence? I think not.
Note the coat as well.

Wait....I got it!

The cats in the cartoon hint look well-fed.

...because they ate Jef's canary from Le Samouraï.

That's it. Le Samouraï it is, y'all.

Hmm let's see..we've got a cat on a chair, cat on a table, cat on a guy. Wait? cat on a guy??? sounds a lot like Katana guy to me. That has to be referring to a samurai...Le Samourai confirmed!

I haven't seen it, but I haven't seen any cats in the pictures I've seen from it - do cats feature in Iris?

I would love Cat People/Curse of the Cat People/Val Lewton box, but I have inside info that it's most likely 1988's THE CARRIER. A crucially important piece of American cinema.

Yeah, there are a handful of American films I've yet to add to my All-Time 100 in terms of having an "elaborate" or thoughtful release. Many might never make it to Criterion because the big studios still release them, yet, in a perfect world, it would be nice to see these personal favorites come to Criterion...

Manhattan (1979)
The Endless Summer (1966)
Inherit The Wind (1960)
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
Sex And The Single Girl (1964)
Several more Veronica Lake films that aren't yet released on ANY format..

I'm also anxiously awaiting "The Last Picture Show" (1971). I see it's listed on the product page, but then says that no release date has been given. I hope it's still in the works!

I recommend America Lost and Found: The BBS Story. During a B&N sale it can be had for about $50 with coupons. Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces and The Last Picture Show alone make it worth the price -- American classics all. If The Last Pucture Show had been available as a stand-alone, I would have purchased that and the Sony release of Easy Rider, but I would have missed out on some great movies.

It's been released as part of this box set:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ameri...Blu-ray/14981/

It's possible it might get a standalone release one day though as some others have.
