Ha. Criterion's site is down. More traffic than anticipated I suppose.

No way, you were way off. It's called America Lost and Found: The BBS Story. Really, I got worried when I saw that title at first. I had no clue what BBS was. Thought it was some other box set for a sec.

Vivre Sa Vie (Criterion)

How do i start off with this film? Well first off the Cinematography was amazing, its crazy how a little direction can bring out the beauties of a film. So Bravo to the french dude
[Show spoiler]Jean-Luc Godard lol
.

I really enjoyed this film. It wasn't anything i expected but i still liked it. A woman that is so into her self that she's blinded by so many other things, especially love. It was said how she became a prostitute in the pursuit to become a movie star. It was extremely sad how
[Show spoiler]the man she thought cared about her turned her into a tramp and ultimately leading her to her own bloody murder
. Very touching film, and it got serious once she met the philosopher. He had me thinking about life in a different way for a moment. Once she finally figured out herself and what see really wanted in life it
[Show spoiler]ended that quickly. Pretty damn sad

On another note i think that this film is great in all but its a chick flix. Im not saying anything bad about chick flix's because enjoy a few like The Notebook. Overall the movie was worth watching and im looking forward to watching it again because i know there's things i missed. Recommended

4/5

I don't even care what comes out in December right now. I just want to applaud you for this:

How much cheaper will BDs be during a B&N sales? And has Amazon ever had a price reduction for Criterion titles?

they are 50% off so usually 20 bucks a movie. I've never seen amazon sell them for cheap unless its a popular movie like Benjamin Button or 400 Blows etc.

Amazon always had good prices for Criterion Blu until about February of this year. Then they jacked up the prices permenantly it seems.

Did you notice that the BBS boxset is a timed exclusive for Blu-ray? It comes out three weeks before the DVD release. And it's not a mistake, the news bulletin on criterion.com front page confirms it:
In November, you’ll rev your motors for America Lost and Found: The BBS Story, a Criterion Blu-ray collector’s set (the DVD version comes in December)

And I thought October was loaded.

I'll take everything (Minus Anti-Christ). Great work Criterion! Plus, I can live with $100. I'll save a $50 Amazon gift card for that set.

BTW- anyone notice BBS is going to DVD weeks later than blu-ray? Another good move by Criterion.

Thanks for the prompt reply. USD 20 is indeed cheap. I'll wait for the sales to buy Modern Times and Charade then.

The box set is barely $14 per film even if bought direct from Criterion, and Criterion usually charges a good deal more than other onlien retailers. My guess is it can be found for $85-90 or less online by release date.

And the 6-Disc Set also isn't a mistake (from Criterion's Facebook page):
DRIVE, HE SAID and A SAFE PLACE are sharing a disc on the Blu-ray edition.

Night Of The Hunter feature:

"Charles Laughton Directs “The Night of the Hunter,” a two-and-a-half-hour archival treasure trove of outtakes from the film"

Plus, it's 2-discs. $40.

Plus, it'll have free shipping even from Criterion and they have the spend $500/$50 gift card thing. Not a bad deal.

Modern Times and Night of the Hunter alone would be a huge month. Then they also give BBS box.

Criterion's been spoiling me
