Default Coffret 22 movie set

An amazing collection of his life's work. It took me several months to work through this set, and every moment was amazing. It is a shame such a collection is not available in the US for such an important filmmaker. Any serious fan of French cinema should invest in this wonderful collection.

If I ever invested in a region-free player, I would be strongly tempted to buy that set. It's a big reason why I haven't bought a region-free player yet.

If there was no chance Criterion upgraded their Six Moral Tales set, and if I knew French to be able to see all supplements and shorts I would consider it, or if it became extremely cheap.

Grand Budapest and Before Midnight are very cheap on Amazon at the moment. Boyhood was 5 or 6 dollars not long ago. I believe the same thing happened with Fantastic Mr. Fox prior to getting the Criterion treatment.

Only a matter of time.

Do the Criterion tumblr posts mean anything?
I see they posted this:

which is one of my most anticipated upgrades.

Friends and relatives of mine have always given their pets weird names. In some cases, just plain weird -- one friend named one of her cats Braindamage -- others have named them after characters in books, plays, films, or whatever that they liked. A former housemate had two cats named Macheath and Suki Tawdry (from The 3 Penny Opera). Another former housemate named two of his cats Jean and Fiona after the sisters in Brigadoon. Another friend had a Siamese cat named Pushkin; she (the friend, not the cat) was a fan of Russian Lit. Back in the 60s, one of my sisters and her roommates had a couple of cats named Hashish and Peyote (they had a third that was named after a drug, but I can't think of it at the time).

I was just wondering. On a few of my Criterion blu-rays, when the menu loads up it starts with the sidebar on the left in gray followed by the full display like a split second later whereas most of them just load up the full display all at once. I could just be paranoid and maybe that's just how a few of the menus tend to load up but just wanted to make sure.

Why is Robert Forster credited as one of the main stars in Mulholland Drive when he only has one or two lines?

Yeah, I think it's screening at the cinema in the movie. I'm sure it's on a cinema banner too.

Watched The Wrong Move last night. It's long been my least favourite of the Road Trilogy and that's not about to change anytime soon. That's not to say that it's a bad film per se, but I do find it to meander a little beyond the first hour. The new restoration is glorious tho.

Yup. Thats the one.

So by my count that makes two Criterion movie posters within a movie (the other being Gilda in Mulholland Drive).
