Had the misfortune of watching "The In-Laws" (1979) tonight- a dull, lame, terribly unfunny affair that had me wondering just what the hell the Criterion crew (and, apparently, audiences) saw in it. Hiller's "Silver Streak" (1976) is a far superior Action/Comedy film in every facet. "Freebie and The Bean" (1974, and also with Arkin), though ridiculous, is a substantially more entertaining experience, as well.

I ended up waking up late and watched it on 3 local TV Stations too! It looked jammed pack with like half a million people there! What a parade though! Mike Lange was the highlight for me, as he's such a great storyteller. I liked how Sid took the cup and let the fans touch it towards the end too. He seems like a guy with a really good heart. It would be cool to meet up at a Barnes & Noble this summer and talk up Criterion and buy a few movies during the upcoming sale, so let me know if you plan to come down to a store in July?

Super excited to see the announcements. I can't bring myself to look at the tags first, but the excitement here is palpable.

I appreciate all the spoiler tags cause I love waiting for the criterion coming soon page to load them and then I scroll them backwards and see each title one at a time (I liked it more when the page flowed top to bottom to newest announcement. Now I have to reload the page close my eyes and see if the # of titles per page changed when it does then I scroll

and if all those spoiler tags are just joke ones good going.

Ha! I've been doing the exact same thing for six years. One title at a time.
