Fox merely distributes MGM's catalog. MGM makes their own decisions on what to release and what to license out.

Every chance I get. It's the nectar of the gods, my boys. My most favorite of beers. Around here we have tall boys at the bars and 30 packs at the store. Perfect for wizard staffs.

Go to any bar in any southern state (not including Florida, which is a pseudo-southern state... it's only southern by location) and you're going to find PBR all over the place. Many southern bars even have it on-tap.

CC is very correct, except that you can include north Florida in the mix, especially Gainesville, fl aka our local rock and roll Mecca. Being in south georgia, the pabst does indeed flow like wine.

Some fun facts. Pbr used to be know. As pabst select until it won the national prize for best beer (late 1800's) and people started asking for it as "that blue ribbon beer". Also, the pabst company was the originator of the six pack, as it was deemed as just the right amount of weight for a woman to be able to carry home from the store. No lie.

Agreed Chad!

One would think that the 50% off sales not only brings in customers and helps them to unload stock, but if you buy enough titles, it becomes cost effective to become a member and buy "in-store", which nets you another 10% off (as I did this time around).

Put it this way...Circuit City was in a hell of a lot worse shape than B & N and they hung around for quite a while, until their last B & M store closed.

That's what I did during the previous sale, so now they have to stick around...at least until my membership runs out.

You might be able to get it for $50 with some coupons in addition to the sale. Most likely it'll be $62 because BN will sell it for list price-- $124.95.

some people were mentioning Peckinpah.
I really think Warner will release at least 2 of the ones they have rights to on blu at some point.
It might be a while, but they'll get to him again eventually.
The Wild Bunch has to be one of the coolest films ever imo.
the editing is just incredible.

The Wild Bunch is already on BD, just not lossless audio.

I realize that.
guess I wasn't very clear with that.
what I mean was I think Warner will get around to him again as far as bd releases.
like Ride The High Country or Pat Garrett
as far as only having DD 5.1, yes that is unfortunate and hopefully one day that will be rectified, but it really doesn't effect my enjoyment of the release.
I still love it, and am super happy Warner released it.

Are you thinking of Pat Garret & Billy The Kid and The Balled of Cable Hogue?(two of my fave Peckinpah films by the way)

Thank you! I can't believe what I'm reading. Preference is one thing, but I'm stunned to hear people not hearing of PBR. That's like saying "I've never heard of this... Pizza Hut thing".

It is a hipster beer for sure, but it's also just... everywhere. Miller, Bud, PBR. I've never even questioned it.

I travel around the country for theatre festivals and no matter what state I'm in, PBR seems to be the drink of choice at the after parties. I don't even drink.

Ah well. Strange. There are probably things I've never heard of that other people think are universal.

I was talking to (Peter) Becker on AIM. He said they've finally perfected a version of the figure-8 case for BDs and TNOTH (The Night of the Hunter) will be the first recipient.
So, I guess we'll have to wait and see if that, indeed, is the case for the film's 2-disc packaging.

Now the people who hates digipaks will bash the fact that all 2-discs films are not the same. The Leopard being digi, now a 2-disc clear case for Night of the Hunter. Oh No!

Apparently, the blu figure-8 case was just a dumb joke by that guy. So no one has to worry about 2-disc blu packaging replacement program questions becoming the life of the party here.

Question: Are all the old digipack-films like The Man Who Fell To Earth now in ordinary cases? If not, which films are digipacks?
