I watched Bed and Board last night on Hulu.

I just love the Antoine Doinel character so much.

He's just so...odd.

Looking forward to saying adieu to the character tonight in Love On The Run.

...though it will be bittersweet.

Then I will attempt to squeeze in Umberto D and a couple of Ozu films before my free two week trial ends on Wednesday night.

I'm thinking Early Summer and Late Autumn.

Wow, that kind of sucks. I bought four Criterions in-store during the last sale and I was able to use 20% coupons on three of them. Now it sounds like they're getting stricter with exclusions, which is too bad. Those 20% coupons were really helpful in bringing the price down on box sets.

My four sale purchases:

The Manchurian Candidate (snail-mail 20% coupon)
Only Angels Have Wings (snail-mail 20% coupon)
The Complete Monterey Pop Festival (posted 20% coupon)
The In-Laws (no coupon)

oh, I do that all the time. I've become a favorite poster around here, I think.

have you got a cow to kick? I'd love to read about it.

Well, I went ahead and bought 2 tickets for The Tree of Life 100-piece symphony orchestra for Sat. night, Nov. 19 at the B.A.M.!

Here are my seats!

G39 Mezzanine 4
G41 Mezzanine 4

They were $35 each. I couldn't see myself buying the $55 or $75 seats even though the location was better. I've seen the film enough times and the music is the main thing for me. It will sound good regardless of seating choice.

I almost didn't do this but then I realized I'll for sure find someone to go with me. Hell, you can have one of the tickets if you want if you have $40. I'm still not sure who is going to come with me. I know a couple people in NYC that may though, we'll see.

I would definitely take you up on that.

But the plane ticket from the West Coast would be a problem.

Love me some Malick.

But the Barnes and Noble sale has broken me financially.

I can only pray to god that this Nigerian prince who's been emailing me is legit.

Ha. You're hilarious man!

You can always buy a cheap train ticket for $140 and take the Amtrak cross-country. That may take 4 days though, but imagine the excitement of finally getting off the train in Penn Station, Manhattan and not only seeing this concert but also meeting up with us at a cool theater-bar on Saturday night for the meetup!

I've actually done that before.

One of the best experiences of my life.

...taking the train from coast to coast is something everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.

With the way Amtrak operates these days, twice in a lifetime may not even be possible.

Where do you plan to stay? When do you get into town?

I wouldn't mind going if the logistics and cost are on my side.

I'll most likely find an Airbnb very easily somewhere as I usually do (I've done the Airbnb.com thing about 20-30 times in my life now around the world). I'd leave Friday, November 18 and come back on Tuesday or Wednesday (I'm on Thanksgiving/holiday break then so I can stay as long as I want).

Lionsgate is bringing out a Vestron Video horror line -- $40, limited editions, with spine numbering. Could they be planning a similar Studio Canal line? The 1st Vestron title is "Blood Diner."

They already had a(n albeit unnumbered) "StudioCanal" line, and they dropped the ball on it. Well, not only dropped the ball, but kicked it down the field and through their own goalposts.

My response to their new line is along the lines of, "Great...just what we need is another imprint of low-budget horror movies." But if others like 'em, who am I to say them nay? It's not like I have to buy them.
