I'm not sure what you are asking but yes, mail-order.

If you mean dubbed in English, yes.

If you mean Region A, yes.

Do a search on this site with "all countries" and you will see a pick list of those possibilities.

Dammit, I as really hoping I'd be able to get rid of my Zavvi steelbook and my old two-disc DVD set. Why can't Criterion get the Charlie Rose interview? Must be a rights issue.

I watched Umberto D last night on Hulu.

Between that and Bicycle Thieves, how many cinema lovers do you think Vittorio De Sica has turned into suicidal alcoholics?

If you don't see me again...tell the world my story.

I got Seven Samurai and Rashomon in today from Amazon and I should have been getting The Hidden Fortress, but the Postal Service has really screwed the shipping on it. I am really interested to see the new Magnificent Seven so I finally swung for Seven Samurai because it's been a few years since I've seen it as part of a Film As Art class I took. I really enjoyed it then so it will be fun to revisit. And those bonuses too.

Now go watch Shoeshine and you'll have completed his depressing trilogy.

And then move on to Rossellini's War Trilogy (Rome Open City, Paisan, Germany Year Zero) to complete the misery.

I watched My Darling Clementine after not having seen it for years. I remember thinking after that initial viewing that it was Ford at his best and I still hold that belief. Its scope is more limited than, say, The Searchers, but that allows it a startlingly more intimate display of character against a familiar backdrop. There are times where Ford just lets the silence linger on his characters, particularly Earp, and it almost makes the viewer uncomfortable at how introspective it can feel. Fonda particularly shines with this against-the-grain method, what with his lanky demeanor and gentle delivery. He's so at ease with the frame, even when the chaos inevitably ensues. Film is also beautiful to look at, particularly during the night scenes (the first encounter between Earp and Doc highlights this.) You're ultimately left with the feeling of its characters than any conventional set pieces.

Everything clicks together just right that you have an understanding for why the genre can rank among the best of what cinema has to offer. That final shootout is just fantastic filmmaking.

Gotcha. So there's a feature on the current blu that isn't going to be on the Criterion release?

That's a really nice list. Normally not a big documentary fan but The Kennedy Films are an exception to that. The only one of these I didn't take to on first viewing was Only Angel Have Wings. Very well done sir.

The secret is buying them all. Once you have all of them, the sales are much less expensive.

There was an interview he did for the Charlie Rose show with Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro Gonzelz Innaritu that was on the two-disc DVD version. It's not on my UK steelbook BD, however.
