Damn, forgot to include The Magnificent Ambersons in my list. Criterion or WAC; either way, I'd be happy.

I just finished Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and WAC knocked it out of the park. It looks and sounds incredible. And holy God, I couldn't take my eyes off of Elizabeth Taylor.

Twilight Time is releasing another great Liz film based on a Tennessee Williams play; Suddenly, Last Summer will be released in 2017.

My want list is getting shorter by the day, and I'm thrilled about it. This last year has seen a whole bunch of my wants issued on blu-ray. Now to get some of these great Criterion releases upgraded.

Come on, Criterion. Take some more of my money.

Did someone say fake Criterion cover? This is something I came up with recently for one of my guilty pleasures.

Anyone know of the cheapest place to order The Dekalog? Or is it better to wait closer to the release date?

Barnes and Noble on Black Friday using your B&N Membership and MasterCard.

The 50% off Criterion sale will knock it down to $49.99.

The 35% off Black Friday coupon will knock it down to $32.49.

The 10% off for your B&N Membership will knock it down to $29.24.

The 5% off for your B&N MasterCard will knock it down to $27.78.

Tip #1: If you buy it in a state that does not have a sales tax (i.e. Delaware, Oregon, Montana, etc.) $27.78 will be your take home price.

Tip #2: If you use your B&N MasterCard to buy a $75 B&N gift card, you will actually only be paying $71.25 for it. In addition, you will receive a bonus B&N gift card worth $10 (which you can't use until after Christmas.) You can then buy The Decalog for $27.78 using your newly purchased gift card and have $47.22 left over to use on the purchases of other Criterion blu-rays.

Last sale, didn't B&N disable coupons for Criterion Collection titles? That makes the game a lot less fun, if they don't reinstate them.

I made Criterion Collection purchases in five different Barnes and Noble stores (located in southern New Jersey and Delaware) during the last sale and experienced no problems whatsoever with those purchases, and each one was made using a coupon.

In what areas around the country did buyers experience these issues?

Guys, the answer is to use the coupons as soon as they go live. Don't wait around and assume they're going to endure as long as B&N says they are supposed to. It sucks we have to do this, but I'm so glad I did. When some of the coupons started disappearing, I knew the 25% off coupon online wasn't going to be around long. And, with titles disappearing left and right because they were selling out, I decided to use the 20% off $125 or more, and forget about the 25% off, in order to get the films I wanted. Sure enough, by the time the 25% coupon went live, four more films on my want list had sold out. And, the next morning, the 25% off coupon was nerfed to exclude Criterions.

I was lucky enough to pick up ten blu-rays with that 25% off coupon on the first day of that particular coupon code. I purchased ten more in stores all the way up until August 1st using printable 20% off coupons on each purchase in five different stores all within driving distance and never encountered a single problem.

I was wondering which parts of the country encountered this trouble because New Jersey and Delaware were immune.

I'm just happily planning my Flash sale purchases. No messy coupons to hassle with, just spend $184, and get my $50 coupon. The only thing I have to contend with is the massive influx of web traffic on Criterion's server. I think I'll load up my cart before the sale officially starts, refresh once it goes live, and then just submit it.

I must say, though, their customer support was exemplary when the web issues popped up. Actually, I could just say their support has been top notch period, ever since I've been doing business with them. I was real impressed with how quickly they responded to my concerns (within minutes, and this was ten minutes after the Flash sale started). And, they assured me that if I was locked out on something because the site went down (I sent them the list of what I was trying to buy), they'd make sure to get the movies to me at the discounted price even the day after the sale was over.

As for B&N, all bets are off for November. I have no idea what to expect. If it means that the coupons are, on average, a little less spectacular, that's just fine with me. I just want to know that once something has been published, I want them to follow through with it.

Let's hope that if And The Ship Sails on ever makes it to blu-ray we get the original English language track as well.

No hints or clues from Criterion leading up the announcements? A little tease goes a long way.

My sale haul from B&N all turned up today - ten items in seven packages:

[Show spoiler]

As you can see, all but one are this year's releases. To Be or not To Be is the only one that was out of stock so B&N, credit to them, sent it UPS priority, taking only a few days to get to Blighty... and sadly picking up a £20.50 charge from UPS on the way

Still, that's my first charge in seven sales, totalling I would guess around eighty disks, so I won't complain

Also, the UK disk for this turned up today:
