Damn.. Two Criterions that were the two most wanted Criterion releases I was looking forward to the most this year both pushed back. What are the odds?

And speaking of that: It's less than a month until the new pushed back release date for McCabe and Mrs. Miller and there are still no early reviews for it anywhere on the Internet like they usually show up. Slowly starting to remind me of July when I was checking the Internet several times a day like a madman to see if a review has been posted anywhere until I finally saw the heartbreaking announcement that it has been pushed back to October 11.

Another announcement of it being pushed back yet again incoming? Stay tuned...

Excuse my ignorance on the subject as I don't know too much but I'm sure I read the framing was changed on purpose for Blue?

The last few Decembers, if I remember correctly, have had pretty underwhelming announcements. I haven't seen it, but His Girl Friday would be cool. Outside of what we know is already coming, Criterion has been too difficult to predict.

It's obviously a mistake, but nobody from either MK2, Curzon or CC wants to speak on it. I emailed all three companies personally asking if they knew what went wrong, and received no response. As far as I'm aware, no one involved has ever acknowledged it.

I just gave in and took a look at the spoilers.

When I saw the second spoiled entry, I stood up from my office desk, cried out in joy, ran outside, did cartwheels around the building several times, and then bought doughnuts for all of my co-workers as a celebration, although I told them that I couldn't reveal what is being celebrated quite yet.


(Of course, nobody in the office really cares what the celebratory occasion is when someone brings free doughnuts to the break room. I mean, someone could be buying doughnuts in honor of the latest ISIS bombing, and folks in the office will still eat each and every one.)
