Third time I've seen Boyhood now and it just gets better and better.

I can't even articulate my feelings.

Lone Wolf and Cub Blu-ray REVIEW

1. The original films look great. Their fans will be happy with these presentations.

2. It is quite clear now that some of these films have some pretty rough spots. The cinematography can introduce some awkward moments, so keep that in mind when viewing them. What you are likely to spot -- some soft spots, quick out of focus jumps, etc. -- are not digital anomalies

3. The presentation of Shogun Assassin is a notch below the 2K restorations, but the film has a solid organic appearance.

4. Watch the 1939 documentary with the ambient score. It is outstanding. It creates quite an atmosphere

p.s. We do not have packaging photos yet. When the final market version arrives, as always we will post photos in the review and in the proper threads

Pro-B

We Need to Talk About Kevin has a superb release in your U.S. of A., so such a potential set could make all her works available in an appropriate state.
I'd be over the moon with Morvern Callar - amazing piece of art, i'd it has Samantha Morton as a bonus!

Agreed. One of my favorite films and absolutely needs a blu release.

Just a quick shout out to myself, thought people on this thread might be interested.

I'm selling my Late Mizoguchi blu-ray set (MoC) on the trading forum.

Congratulation to Bob Dylan on his Nobel Prize for literature. I would love to see a Criterion release of Masked and Anonymous. The Nobel committee also noted his work as painter, actor and scriptwriter. A man of many talents, but mostly a musical genius.

I wouldn't mind Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, either.

Yeah, are we still talking about Affleck being "shut-out" for Argo? It wasn't a snub, it was intelligence. And it gave that film alooooooot more staying power than it would've otherwise.

In my opinion, Argo is among the worst Best Picture winners. The film is all over the place. A re-watch made me question my decision making.

I picked up a few titles via a "lot" on eBay and one of the titles included is Eraserhead. Can someone check their copy for me to let me know if what I am seeing is normal?

If I look at the back of the disc (the side with the data,) there is an inner ring that looks like it might not belong there. On the picture side, there kinda seems to be a design that might just be making some kind of shadow on the flip side. I was a little disappointed w/ the condition of some of the other titles in the lot and I'm wondering if my disappointment should include this title or if this is just how it appears.

Not sure about your issue but make sure you got the corrected disc as well should say second printing on the disc I think...

It's probably fine, I have a lot of CC discs that have streaking or fading on the disc art. If it says second printing, I'd recommend forgetting about it for now and watching the film.

Not Criterion news, but probably of interest to some of us: Cohen Media Group Acquires 10 Jacques Rivette Movies for North America.

The news about THE OLD DARK HOUSE really was a surprise in that article.

What are everyone's predictions for January 2017? I'm hoping for the Before Trilogy to finally be announced.

Seems more like a Valentine's Day release.
