How did you get Short Cuts? I was told only in stock items could be ordered and Short Cuts isn't due out until the 25th.

I had Blood Simple, Boyhood, and Short Cuts in my cart. Short Cuts sold out as I was going through the checkout process and the order wouldn't have shipped until Nov. 8th so I cancelled the order. I'm just going to wait until the B&N sale.

Good timing for the sale, after watching 'Johnny Guitar' this weekend, wanted to see more Sterling Hayden so ordered 'The Killing' from the sale. Also purchased the following: 'McCabe and Mrs. Miller', 'Dekalog' and 'A Taste of Honey'.

Funny thing was that, about a month ago, finally watched the non-Criterion version of "Dr. Strangelove" and really liked Sterling Hayden but not standout enough for me to find out more about him and then boom, saw"Johnny Guitar" and couldn't get enough of him. What a cool name.

I'm considering doing another purge of my CC titles. It's better to have the money in my pocket than films sitting on a shelf that aren't being re-watched.

A lot of times the films Criterion releases tour and I can see it on the big screen. Sometimes that's all I need. Films like Blood Simple, A Touch of Zen and Black Girl are excellent but I've had my fix in 4K - no rush to buy them.

First time doing the flash sale. This is a nice way to spread out the purchases a little bit before November. I got THE BIG CHILL, BOYHOOD, and THE NEW WORLD.

I'm really kicking around getting The Complete Jacques Tati, but it would be a blind buy for me. I love the old silents and visual gags.

I guess I can sleep on it and do a little research.

Yeah, and it's still $14.66 per film, for Four Hitchcock films.

Still a helluva bargain.

I need help. On a budget, but I want to grab at least 4. Any recommendations? Only thing I ask is that it cannot be the same director. Want to vary it. I'm already picking up The Apu Trilogy. Thinking maybe Bergman or Fellini or Cassavetes or...help?!?!

Dekalog and Short Cuts were both sold out by the time I could get to the flash sale so I bought:

Blood Simple, A Taste of Honey, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Valley of the Dolls, Muriel, or the Time of Return, and Boyhood.

I'm really looking forward to watching A Taste of Honey. Based on the youtube clips I've watched it looks right up my alley.

re: Bergman. I think Persona, Autumn Sonata, and Wild Strawberries are all fantastic.

Last week, I monitored criterion.com religiously every day at noon, 1PM & 2PM ET...Today I was too busy at work and I only saw it an hour after the sale started...

However all 3 I intended to pick up were still in stock and quickly placed my order and one of them (my number 1 want, Dekalog) went OOS shortly afterwards...

Dekalog
Mccabe & Mrs. Miller
Umberto D.

Feeling lucky...

I purchased some criterion GCs ($75) in earlier months to prepare for this sale, so I just spend about $14 more since B&N sale is so close...I might have skipped the flash sale if it was not for the GCs I got earlier...

62.50+tax for 5 titles if you add one of the 29.99 SRP items handily beats 54.50+tax for 4.
Yeah, last sale I did that...Rock Box & The American Friend...It was a good deal...
I already had A Hard Days Night (Digipak) so exchanged the scanavo case version included in the box with another criterion with a forum member...
