I am watching Fargo Season 1 these days...completed till episode 7, 3 more episodes to go...
BTW, since we are talking about Coen Brothers, I thought I will mention a movie that was very similar to their output and that liked very much... "Bound" By The Wachowskis It's great and very much like many Coens Brothers movies. |

And just to clarify, you DL the image and print it yourself (or perhaps locally)? I'd be skeptical of the results @ 27 X 39.5" (or unless you can DL a REALLY high-res image) I really love Criterion's Lone Wolf & Cub illustration, so looking for the best option to get the best result. Is Criterion online the only source for a authentic print? |

Just rewatched Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
The film reminds me of finding Playboy Magazines (circa 1970's) that my dad stashed in our basement. The comics, the articles, the advertisement art, as well as the retrospectively innocent pictorials - they're all in that movie! |

I like BBT in a lot of his early roles, but I wasn't a huge fan of how he turned the Morris Buttermaker character in "The Bad News Bears" from a beaten down, alcoholic former ballplayer in the original to a dude who seems like he would have no problem banging high school girls as a 50 year old man in the remake.
One of Thornton's most underrated performances is in Oliver Stone's "U Turn". Also think he's great in "One False Move". |

![]() Yeah basically download the artwork and sent off to print separately myself, but the site had a lot of hi res copies of the artwork and mine have printed flawlessly ![]() In terms of authentic - see if the designer is selling prints on their site, I know Sam Smith used to sell his Hausu prints on his site (as well as on Criterion.com). That artwork would make a beautiful print though! EDIT: They have got it: https://www.cinematerial.com/movies/...815/p/4zxaalka Heres the file as I have an account so I can get a copy for you: http://imgbox.com/iIQv6z6k ![]() Going to get myself a print done I think, beautiful artwork! Wow, watched Cat People last night. That is one beautiful film, stunning, engaging black and white photography. I loved the directorial choices that Tourneur made. And if ever there were perfect casting, Simone Simon was it for this role.
I had seen this before, many, many years previous. I remembered enjoying it, surely. But watching it last night, restored, in the dark by myself -- a lovely experience. I still need to get through the various extras. I started the commentary last night, but only made it about 1/3 of the way through before I just needed sleep. I'm so glad I got this. |

Just watched Fox and His Friends on Hulu (watch it while you can, folks!) - very good film with lots of layers: class differences, a relationship slowly falling apart, and even a traveling carnival! Fassbinder was quite good in the lead role, and I kind of want his jacket:
![]() Ready for denim to come back in a big way. The only other Fassbinder I've seen is Ali: Fear Eats the Soul which I also really enjoyed - need to spend more time on him. |

This is purely random as a "Criterion topic" but...
How many of your "ten greatest films" are on Criterion? Or have been on Criterion? And what are the odds of seeing them on Criterion at some point in the future? I realize that only two on my current list have been picked up by Criterion. Although the rights issues are surely the main reason why, in many cases... 10. Apocalypse Now (Redux) 1979 I think this one has a chance to appear on Criterion. Someday... 9. The Endless Summer 1966 Maybe someday. But there are surely higher titles on their list I'm sure... 8. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs 1937 Will likely never happen since Disney certainly has a firm lock on it. 7. Mulholland Dr. 2001 Yes! It is one of my favorite copies and I adore the cover! ![]() 6. JFK 1991 I already love the digibook by Warner. I kinda doubt this one will make it anyways. 5. Citizen Kane 1941 Certainly as worthy a Criterion candidate as any film ever made, but Warner's hold on this landmark, including the already wonderful digibook and deluxe sets, means Criterion won't likely be in the running anytime soon. 4. 2001: A Space Odyssey 1968 More than worthy. Maybe for the upcoming 50th? 3. Vertigo 1958 This one would be as ideal as it gets for a Criterion release. But will it ever happen? I don't know... 2. La Dolce Vita 1960 Yes! And like "Mulholland Dr.", what a cover to house this film of all films... ![]() 1. The Exorcist 1973 Probably not likely. Besides, the Warner digibook is as nice a package as one could ever hope for. So, it looks like I'm batting 20% in terms of the top ten greatest films being available on Criterion. Feel free to list your percentage. ![]() |
