I'm a lil suspicious about The Elephant Man getting a new release soon, be it from Criterion or another company. They screened it at David Lynch's festival last month and it struck me as an interesting choice to screen out of all his films. My guess is it was restored recently and that's what was screened. Wishful thinking maybe but we'll see!

The Cranes Are Flying
Scenes From a Marriage
Bergman's Faith Trilogy
The Passsion of Joan of Arc
The 49th Parallel
Vampyr

Etc, etc.

Anyone ever seen Pandora's Box?
I found a new copy at my used store today for $20 so I snagged it because I see it's out of print.
Just wondering if I should open it, or sell / trade it.
Thanks!

I'm hoping we get Catch 22 from Criterion. We've already got Mike Nichols in the Collection, why not release his second best movie?

Watched The Seventh Continent today with the family (such a great and enjoyable family movie ) - would LOOOVE to see this in the collection... such a devastating film!

I know we recently got Haneke in the collection, but we need MORE.

Ugh. I destroyed -- well, not destroyed, but seriously screwed up -- the digipack for Dekalog. It was dark and I was walking toward my couch, I tripped over some shoes and put my hand out to keep from tripping. Unfortunately I kind of smushed the packaging. Dammit!

How much did you damage? Can always order replacement for $5 :P

Don't share pictures though, too horrifying to look at

Any rumblings of Criterion ever releasing Robert Redford's Quiz Show (1994), Big Night (1996), or Stanley Donen's Two for the Road (1967)?

The former two films had woefully inadequate DVD releases. Quiz Show has been released on Blu in, what I believe, Australia. Two for the Road has had a restoration completed a few years ago but no BR release anywhere.

Two For The Road is being released by Twilight Time in January. The Quiz Show disc from Australia is region-free, but I'd love to see Criterion release it as well. And I'd be all over a Criterion edition of Big Night; it has one of my favorite "last scenes" of a film ever.

Two for the Road is coming out from TT in January though.

It's an excellent movie. Watch it. You'll want to see it more than once. A real classic. It's LULU at her very best!

I think the original cut of Greed would be a nice announcement.

But if that's too tall an order I'll settle for some Abel Gance.

Ugh, I've been aching for someone to release Greed for almost ten years. I can't believe it was never even put out on DVD.
