Seeing if this weekend. Glad you enjoyed it! I don't see Villeneuve being even remotely similar to Besson though. I think there's far more substance and psychology to Villeneuve's films. Besson is pulpy action, IMO.

Arrival is the Villeneuve film that comes closest to greatness. Soundtrack (aside from Max Richter's always amazing "On The Nature Of Daylight") is by stellar Icelandic composer Johann Johannson. He tours as well, so I'd recommend those who like the soundtrack to check out his tour dates. I saw him last month in Toronto and it was one of the better shows I've seen this year.

He's great but Max Richter is in my option a lot better and his music for me has more emotion and beauty in it.

Defo recommend Perfect Sense and Lore soundtrack. He also did great versions of the four seasons.

My GOD! Talk about a punch in the GUT! That was my first Villeneuve film. Was hooked, after that saw "Enemy" and loved it. Excited about Arrival.

I highly recommend Incendies. It was the first film that I took notice from Denis Villeneuve and enjoyed everything since then.

Villeneuve is one of my favorite currently working directors. I'd love to see one of his films in the collection someday. Maybe Polytechnique?

FilmStruck should still be in beta, at least for the iPad. Crashes instantly every time I open it. Lots of negative reviews in the appstore. Ironic considering the actual beta never did this. There would be occasional crashes, but I could at least get to a movie to start playing it. Submitted a report to the company a week or two ago, never heard back...

My beta version of the app always crashed on my iPad mini and does to this day. It works well on my wife's new iPad Air and on my Galaxy s7, but I don't want to watch these films on my phone. Not having a Roku version available Day 1 was a big mistake.

It's indeed quite frustrating. If it helps - the Filmstruck team at Google Play commented that support for Chomecast is coming soon; so for now at least those with Android devices would be able to watch films on their tellies.
