I had to call a couple Barnes and Noble stores directly since their website doesn't have a store pickup option currently. You should do the same since the first store I called had limited copies and all were already reserved.

I had to do the same. My local store got 8 copies of each however, so maybe it wasn't even needed.

I was at Barnes and noticed that it is indeed a DigiPack, just much slimmer than the previous DigiPack. It's size is akin to that of Dr. Strangelove's DigiPack release.

Looked like a smaller version of the previous BD/DVD combo digipack, which is what I have. All of the designs looked exactly the same, this new one is just smaller, if that helps. I didn't examine it for too long, just picked it up and noticed it was slimmer, and then put it back down.
