I'm grateful to Criterion for Women on the Verge but man, are they slow to roll out Almodóvar on bluray. I don't mean Criterion but labels in general.

I would love to see Talk to Her and All About my Mother. A box set like the French just got would be incredible.

I do like that they are following the same art style as Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down! II'd love to read between the lines and assume that there are more coming in the future

So happy for Women on the Verge. Such a hilarious movie.

I like the rest (haven't seen Cameraperson), but I won't be in any rush to acquire them.

How's that?

Due to the rabidness of his fans, we Linklater non-fans don't speak up much, but... if I want to watch two people talking in repose or while walking around, I'll always take Rohmer.
I'm kind of with you here. But I do think Sunrise is a good movie with some magic to it. The other two I just stopped giving a crap about the characters and found them incredibly boring.

But on the plus side, MILDRED PIERCE!!

Here's hoping Amazon has a pricing error this evening on The Before Trilogy like they did for Lone Cub and Wolf!

Mildred Pierce looks fantastic. Hope it gets release in the UK also. The same goes for the Before trilogy. Just looked on Amazon and not one of the titles is available on blu ray in the UK, so it looks like it might get a blu ray release. Don't know about you guys but I always thought Before Sunset as the best entry. Don't know why but I'm a sucker for a romance that involves a heart to heart reunion that doesn't resort to cinematic cliches. Verge of a Nervous Breakdown I have no interest in whatsoever.

IMO It's not Malickesque at all. It's not so opaque and full of itself like most of Malick's films are.

I literally just bought the UK Waking Life, so I'm a bit relieved yet bummed it isn't included.

The Before trilogy's announcement means there's just one movie in my top 50 that doesn't have a Blu-ray release (Arsenic and Old Lace).

Oh, thank God. People will finally shut up about the Before films.

I'm definitely interested in Cameraperson and The Tree of Wooden Clogs. I have a love/hate relationship with Mildred Pierce. I read the novel, which I love, and I've seen the HBO series, which I love, but the 1945 film is rather faraway from the source material; it's definitely not a film noir. I do appreciate Crawford and the film itself, but it's not the Mildred Pierce I think of whenever that title comes up. The last Almodóvar film I watched, Tie Me Up Tie Me Down!, did nothing for me, though I'm willing to give Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown a shot. And I have no interest in the Linklater films. So, a kind of blah month for me.

Wonderful artwork. What are people's opinions re Mommie Dearest (1981)? I'm sure it divides Joan Crawford fans, with some people calling it a piece of cinematic trash, but I personally love it as a guilty pleasure of mine. Not sure if its Criterion worthy, probably not.

It's my favorite of the trilogy as well. But really, the entire series has a special place in my heart.

When I first watched Before Sunrise, I turned the tv off and six hours later I had finished my first screenplay. Granted, it wasn't a good screenplay, but it was finished nonetheless.

When I first watched Before Sunset, it was the first time I felt it was possible to fall in love with a film character.

When I first watched Before Midnight, I cried my eyes out. One of only 10 movies I've ever cried while watching; and easily the most I've cried.

The first song I wrote for my wife has a couple verses referencing two couples in the screenplay I wrote after watching Before Sunrise. The third verse refers to us as Jesse and Celene, because we're better than anything I could have imagined.

I played it during our wedding, which was the ultimate hipster wedding. It was at an open mic. I played the song I wrote for her and "our song" (an unreleased Josh Ritter song), then my mother officiated a quick ceremony (I had just officiated her wedding a couple weeks earlier) and we had our first dance to "Into my Arms" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. We planned it in one day (no, it wasn't a shotgun wedding lol), and it was broadcast on Facebook Live. (can we get one more parenthetical statement in here?)

So... yeah, you could say the Before Trilogy is a huge part of my life

Right? It's so annoying when people ask for something that they love and hold dear to them.
