I missed that. Hopefully it will replay soon. Yeah, the breaks in the films suck.

Yes of course it was! I mean "Enter the Void" it is definitely a movie experience that is totaly different from anything else that got released this year. This leading to polarization is no suprise at all. Some people left the screening being totaly indigant. But I loved it

Not sure how many of you visit the steelbook thread but Metroplis has been announced as a Blu-Ray steelbook. It’s the new reconstructed 150 minute 2010 version. Limited Time Only. Link

Is the steelbook a UK version or is the U.S. version also steelbook?

The domain and the contact address in the link point to this being the UK release.

Yes, this is the just-announced Masters of Cinema release for November 22nd. According to Kevin from Eureka!, the region-coding still hasn't been set in stone, but it's probably 95% going to be Region B since Kino is releasing the Region A version.

All of the talk, of course, is over in the MOC thread. There will be the standard DVD & blu-ray releases, plus this limited dual-format steelbook.

Thanks for that, will update the TiVo now!

Unrelated, but important nonetheless, on Sept. 22nd at 8:30 AM EST, TCM is airing the restored 239-minute version of Erich von Strohiem's Greed. This has never been available on DVD in any version in any country and only had a small run on VHS. The only other way to see the film is to download it from the iTunes Store--why it is there is anyone's guess--but surely even in SD the TCM showing will be a better-quality presentation and a sight to behold.

Thanks. I'll probably just go with the U.S. version in that case. The steelbook is nice but the U.S. version packaging also looks good.

The extras, for the most part, have been announced for both. All you have to do is a small comparison. Easy, right?

Me 3. Well mostly because too much crap in November to think about oversea's versions of something that Kino will release, the same day Kino has another Keaton release as well. Pretty easy to just order both Kino's for that day.

Not as big of a fan of it for a shirt, so not missing out.

November started relax for me, October is bad but now November is quickly starting to become a nightmare. I won't be able to get everything I want, will have to wait after Christmas.

I would purchase this MoC version right now if I knew it was not region locked. Too bad this pre-order deal ends tomorrow and Eureka can't confirm if it's region-locked or not. But for those with an all-region player, it will definitely be an awesome purchase!

I am actually wanting December's announcements to suck, so I can take a break.

Anybody going to go see Corbijn's The American tomorrow? Early reviews are comparing it to Le Samourai and The Passenger. If so, marketing is going to kill this film's success (like always). Very curious to see it.

Had not heard of it before but it sounds interesting. Not a fan of Clooney but Thekla Reuten is in it which is always a plus. Early reviews seem to be mixed with a 56% Rotten tomatoes average. Chances are I'll just see Machete this weekend but I might get to that one eventually.

Man, Machete is such a downer for me right now. When I went opening night to Grindhouse went it came out, the trailer was awesome. Ever since then news on the "making of the film" got me excited. But now it's finally here, and I just don't feel hyped to see it for some reason. I don't know why. Maybe when Friday comes, I'll have the urge to.
