I actually wish they would have kept it a bit more low budget and not brought in so many big names. Still looking forward to it in any case. I usually like Rodriguez films. I'm sure it will be very good. Then again after seeing The Last Exorcism this past weekend anything is an improvement.

Yeah just talking about the cast that wasn't in the trailer (so excluding Danny, Cheech, Jeff Fahey, etc), De Niro for one didn't need to be in this at all IMO. Lohan being in it is funny, so that's cool with me. Don Johnson in it is cool. Alba and Michelle in it isn't that great either, but I guess they needed them, for story purposes. Seagal, never was a fan, but it adds a funny element.

In any case it's impressive that Rodriguez was able to get that many big name actors in the film and keep the budget down to a fairly modest reported $25 mill. This film is going to make many times that between the box office and DVD/Blu sales.

Though oddly enough as good as Grindhouse was it was something of a box office bust. Though I do believe with good DVD sales it managed to turn a profit.

Easter weekend is when Grindhouse came out. Couple that with bad marketing and the fact that the mainstream didn't know/care about 60's-70's B-movie/exploitation and there you have a bomb. Like I said, I went opening night, and hardly anyone was there. That never happened when I went to a movie opening night. Gladly, DVD sales helped it, so we can have Machete, and prob Thanksgiving (Roth is talking about it) next.

I would actually like to see Zombie make Werewolf Women of the SS. Udo Kier and Nic Cage? Yes please.

After the showing of Grindhouse I went to ended I actually heard a couple complaining to the manager about how much grain was in the movie and demanding their money back. No I'm not kidding unfortunately.

The next week when I was at the same theater I noticed a sign outside the Grindhouse showing stating that the film grain is part of the film and no refunds would be given due to it.

Stupid. Actually the people that was there when I went enjoyed it greatly (Laughing throughout, mainly the "missing scene signs", the Thanksgiving trailer's ending, and Planet Terror parts).

YES! YES! YES! YES!

I don't know anything about these new movies (Paul's isn't even on IMDB), but I just found out about this. The Venice Film Festival will (rumored) have Monte Hellman's (director of Two-Lane Blacktop, The Shooting, Cockfighter) new film "Road to Nowhere" and drum roll............ Paul Morrissey's (director of Flesh, Trash, Heat, Blood for Dracula) surprisingly return to directing (news to me) with "News from Nowhere".

It's funny these 2 cult directors have almost the same movie title coming out the same time and "out of NOWHERE" as well. Paul Morrissey (of Warhol fame) is such an underground director that not even fans of his (me) knew anything about a new movie. Like I said though, I know nothing about this (not even on IMDB) so I am very excited to see this.

I still gotta check out those two Paul Morrissey movies you told me about. It feels like have tons more stuff to watch lately, yet I can' get around to watching much of anything.

I haven't seen anyone here make any predictions for December releases. Nor have I even seen anyone mention any rumored titles. It feels like they made all the major announcements already. Anyone have a clue what could be happening in December?

That's because there are still two weeks until the announcements occur. I guess some people find enjoyment out of making pointless predictions, but I'd rather just wait for the facts.

The only known title that should be coming in December is del Toro's "Cronos."

CC wouldn't surprise me if they gave us another Bergman (Fanny and Alexander) in December,

Couple that with another MGM title (Probably SSofS), another IFC (Still Walking?) and a surprise---- it's another great month most likely

Wouldn't mind THE KILLING either

Sweet, thanks. I forgot about that list over at Criterion forum. Y Tu Mama Tambien would be great. I haven't seen Fish Tank, but I've heard some good things.

Probably won't get another Bergman so soon since "The Magician" is coming in October.

I wouldn't mind a "Where the **** did that come from" announced title. Maybe a Bunuel out of nowhere to make up for the StudioCanal bomb they laid on Bunuel titles in the collection.

Just remember to not take them serious. They are poorly acted and cheaply made, but that's why they work and makes them funny. Of course you could listen to the commentary for the "artsy" views of Morrissey, but it's just fun watching them.

Gotcha. Yea, the Netflix description said they were basically campy horror films. Sounds like fun.
