It really is. Every great living director needs this kind of documentary made about them before they croak.

I'll be watching Short Cuts tonight for the first time.

When I find out which one of you bastards snagged the last copy of The Killers at the Barnes and Noble in Eugene, Oregon...there will be a reckoning.

...I'm gonna get medieval on someone's digital ass.

I found the first fifteen minute or so of Short Cuts really patience testing, but it all comes together after that. One of Altman's very best movies. And one of the most killer cast lists of all time.

Pus, you get to see Huey Lewis's "news." And a lot of Julianne's Moore.

Just watched my first two Kar Wai Wong films Chungking Express and In the Mood for Love and needless to say I'm floored by how incredible the films were. Which other films of his should I check out? And my other question would be which others do you see coming to Criterion?

My Blueberry Nights is good. And the In the Mood For Love sequel, 2046.

Fallen Angels and Happy Together are weaker IMO, but also might be out of print.

Ray, according to my receipt I bought the last copy of The Killers at the B&N in Eugene at precisely 12:27pm today.

I love this. Wish it would get a (U.S.) Blu-ray release. I broke down and bought the DVD several years ago.

On the flip side, my wife and I hated The Great Beauty - Really regretted even giving it our time. The Killers is a fantastic set though! (This original is incredible, and the remake is basically a very good extra in our opinion ;P)

I saw Moonlight last night and I agree. It is a fantastic film, a definite Oscar contender, and an important piece of art.

Saw The Spy in Black by Powell and Pressburger, this afternoon from a 35mm BFI restoration. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It looks like it's on Filmstruck now (I'm not subscribed, but it shows up when I search for it), so I'm wondering if anyone's heard any movement on it getting released? I'd love a Blu, of course, but it seems like a minor Powell & Pressburger Eclipse suit would be a good place for it, too.

Does the Barnes 'n' Noble sale end tonight at midnight or tomorrow at midnight?

I'm going to downgrade my Dual Format titles to their BD only versions.

We watched it just before it left Hulu and really enjoyed it too. Would happily by a blu ray of it.

2046 is a sequel to In the Mood for Love? Guess I'll check that out next!
