I thought I was in the twilight zone reading posts about cortisone shots last night. At first I thought it was a spam poster trying to sell something.

Definately buy now. Eventually the copies will run out and it's going to be harder to find. $27 is a decent price.

I need to find something else. I'm thinking The 400 Blows. That defiantly saves me some money compared to Amazon.

Does anyone know if someone ever asked Criterion (either on facebook, etc) when the whole MGM crap was going down, if they picked up River's Edge?

Thanks Bro. Once i got on my Criterion Fix I told myself every Criterion i watch ill post a review. I really have allot of confidence in the movie group thats why every CC i buy is a blind buy.

I agree with your review as well...I had streamed this on NetFlix and very quickly decided that this film would get a place in my collection sooner than later...
I thought that this was the purpose of this thread. But now you mention it i never see anyone really talking about the Criterion Collection unless they are referring to a new release.

There is/was a thread on this board about it a couple of days ago. If you look at imageentertainment.com you can pretty easily find it listed as an upcoming release there. (At least you could a few days ago.) Too bad that's the only title slip though.

I'm sure this has been brought up in excess, but I'll ask once more.

How likely is it that Barnes and Noble will have another half-off sale in November?

I'm debating whether or not to cancel my pre-orders. I still have 21 out of the 51 titles I have from Criterion to watch. So I figure I can wait two months for Sept. & Oct. releases.

i don't know for sure, but from what i've heard, they have that 1/2 off sale every year. i don't know if it'll be in november since they just had one, but i guess they always have the summer one they just had. but not positive.

I just noticed all the criterion movies ive watched except 8 1/2 and M are boring as hell in the beginning and then make a huge 180 near the mid point. Is this just me?

Gomorrah (Criterion)

Introduced by Martin Scorsese
Directed by Matteo Garrone

Wow this is a crippling, dramatic, multilayer (Onion) crime movie. In reference to the Italian mafia known as "Camorra", Gomorrah show you the ugly crippling truth behind this powerful and ruthless like mafia origination.

I've seen most of all the popular Crime/Mafia/Gangster movies such as Godfather, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Casino, Goodfellas and so fourth but rest assure the Gomorrah is on entire different level. Not saying this movie is better than these highly praised classics but its totally different in every way from these popular titles.

The beginning of the movie had me kinda confused but as it progressed i started to understand that this was a multistory movie but all based on the same principles, CRIME. This movie instantly became a suspenseful horror flick because of the random
[Show spoiler]Killings and i do mean RANDOM
. Overall this movie was a huge surprise and im glad a purchased it! I know crime/mafia movies arent for everyone but the drama in the movie itself is worth the viewing. MUST SEE

5/5

Hehe... not a problem. At first glance I thought it was a spam poster trying to sell something. Then I looked up your post history and realized you were a legit poster.

Honestly I typically love crime/mafia types of films. But for some reason Gomorrah just didn't strike a cord with me. Don't get me wrong, it was a decent film. Just not one of the better Criterion releases IMO. I'd give it a decent 3.5/5
