Watched Broadcast News today. What a fantastic film, and one that rarely gets a mention on the forum. It's beautifully rendered on all levels, the directing is understated but artfully and classically handled, the performances are wonderful, holy lord is Holly Hunter good, but Brooks and Hurt are also fantastic and the cadre of smaller roles are played to pin point perfection.

I actually think films like this are severely under-mentioned in regards to how hard they are to make. To make dialogue flow so naturally and have characters of real, genuine distinct personalities and believable flaws is a difficult thing to achieve when you need to balance a variety of tones from comedy to romance to drama to the procedural aspects of a workplace.

Anyway, great film.

Typically in late Feb/early March. The past 3 have been on Feb 23, Mar 10, and Feb 25
